Pita Pit Takanini — Restaurant in Papakura

If only I could give zero stars. I don’t think I’ve ever left a review but my experience with pita pit takanini was beyond annoying and some of the worst customer service I have received. We ordered two pita wraps, one normal and one gluten free. Due to their sign of waiting outside for your orders due to COVID we did….right outside where we could see in and they could see us. After waiting 20 minutes as we could see they were busy we went inside to ask how much longer the wait would be only to be told they hadn’t started my order because they didn’t ask me if I was celiacs or not (even though they could see us waiting outside). After confirming I was, they proceeded with my order only to be told after another 5 minutes that they didn’t have any gluten free wraps left. I asked for a full refund but my partners pita was ready so they refunded me the money for my order. At no point was there an apology. I would recommend everyone stays away...

I visited this pita pit today for lunch and ordered a vegetarian wrap. While preparing my wrap, the staff member had just served another customer a meat wrap. As the meat was being toasted, she began assembling my vegetarian sandwich without changing her gloves. Additionally, she placed both wraps side by side on the same surface before wrapping the meat wrap in fresh paper, while mine was wrapped using the same paper that had touched both items.

I also observed that she used the same gloves to transfer tomatoes into another container while I was waiting for my wrap to be toasted. This raises concerns about hygiene and cross-contamination. Regardless of whether you order a vegetarian or meat wrap, the shared handling of ingredients compromises their integrity.

Brought a pita pit and pita chips today, threw uber eats and it cost me over 35 dollars, but that's OK. Shortly after I received my pita pit, i took a big bite into it and the bacon and chicken was burnt, the taste of the bacon was absolutely disgusting and the color was black and it was like rock solid. And when I open up the wrap omg I was so angry only to find 2 pieces of burnt bacon and 2 pieces of burn chicken inside How very disappointing 😞 I love pita pit I always go to the manukau one to eat and it is always so delicious there. I will never ever buy or recommend takanini pita pit. Pull your head in and serve what the people what...
