The Coffee Club Takanini Village — Restaurant in Papakura

22Aug16 I've been here twice and also a number of times at other Coffee Club places in Manukau and Auckland (Stonefields). This one is a large, new cafe, with big high doors and high ceilings plus floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of light. Customers will get hot at tables next to windows. Good furniture and selection of tables and chairs. But arranged as in a factory cafe so that customers too often look through each others' sight lines and straight into the faces of strangers.

Nice food displays and clearly written menus at the counter. Some food is wrapped in plastic. Why? Today, plastic is for food banks and private homes, and picnics. Not cafes and eating places. It prompts undesirable customer suspicions about food freshness.

This Coffee Club is a general family oriented cafe. But (like BP Connect service stations which raised some of their pie prices from $4.20 to $5 in October 2016) pricing is at the tipping point that makes customers go elsewhere or do without.

Combine the furniture layout with the prices and plastic food wrap then stir in the slightly slow service and unenthusiastic clearing of tables and debris in the store and I just couldn't rate this at three stars despite the...

I would give zero stars if I could. We buy coffee regularly from here and for some reason the coffee we purchased was really bad. When we called, this staff told us to bring the coffee back and they will change it. When the coffee was taken back, we were sent away. It was so embarrassing to be called in for a change and being sent away. The lady on the call ( said she was the manager) was extremely rude and said we were late to pick the coffee and then she hung up. It doesn’t matter how hot or cold, if the coffee is made well, it will taste good. Is she trying to say that cold coffee tastes bad? Definitely the staff who made the coffee need proper training and the person who spoke on the phone needs to be trained on proper phone etiquette. Extremely rude and abrupt customer service. Also the man who initially answered the call was not present in the restaurant. Will never go back here. The only reason we went to get it changed was because we were called otherwise we wouldn’t mind going to another cafe to get a new one. What a spoilt...

Ordered a chicken wrap for my Aunty she mentioned no flavour & being toasted was running mayo wrap fell apart. Caramel milkshake had whisked milk with Caramel sauce to the side is was mostly milk flavor couldnt taste Caramel The Macha & Strawberry frappe was good cold with flavor I had a cheese & green onion scone it was nice. When ordered the young man wasn't loud enough to relay the order back needs to be more confident hopefully he picks up the pace as there was a long line seemed a bit odd to train someone during busy times as this was the lunch hour. Massive draft of cold wind coming through the huge ranch door looks like it needs another barrier outside to block off most the wind. Would I recommend this place? "well it's half n half" maybe for a coffee & a cake or scone & frappe but prices of the larger & expensive meals no not after my Aunties...
