Thoroughbred Sports Bar — Restaurant in Papakura

Went to the thoroughbred for dinner last night with friends and ordered steak meals, asked for medium rare and came basically rare, the eggs were barely cooked and still looked raw had to send them back and asked for a fresh one but just got heated in the microwave...the steak came served on top of the chips and made the chips soaked in blood so were soggy and got put off them. Over all the creamy mushroom sauce was the only good thing and even the amount of chips under the steak was bare minimum seems like they put them under the steak to try hide the amount you got. I have been to the thoroughbred before about a year ago and got the same meal and loved it! So was expecting to go back and get the same result but sadly was disappointed, and I’m sure last time the chips were served in a seperate bowl so didn’t expect them to be under the steak all soggy. Was looking forward to a nice meal but now won’t be...

Went to dinner lastnight with my family. We prebooked our dinner as we were coming in with a large group of 8 Adults, 8 kids, 2 infants. On arrival and giving our booking details they had not reserved a table for us so they had to gather tables and chairs to put together. No menus available, we had to share 2 between the lot of us. We ordered our food at 7.20pm and were told there was a 30 minute wait on Mains, but kids will be served earlier. Kids didn't get food until 8.20. Mains all got served at different time ranging from 8.30 - 9pm. Food was not at all great. Was well not worth the wait. The food was bland and flavorless. We were given complimentary drinks which was well appreciated. But overall the experience was terrible. This place really needs to hire more staff and work on customer service. I do not recommend going here until this is fixed and I definately wont be coming...

First time having lunch there for our daughter's birthday today. Had Steak meals, Butter chicken, Pork Ribs, Steak Burger & Seafood chowder for our meals. Chocolate cheesecake, Chocolate moose, Vanilla Ice cream w/ wafer stick & Brownies w/ whip cream & caramel sauce for desserts. Food was frikken YUMM 😋 even our kids were complimenting the Chef! 👌🏼 Nothing left on our plates ! Good bang for ya buck! 🤑 Spacious dine in area 🍽️ Outside seating area also. Couple of arcade claw machines to occupy the kids until your food comes lol However not really long of a wait. Staff were all kind, friendly & awesome considering our kids are jabba jaws 🥴 Review could change. But I highly doubt it. So its a 5 star rating for us 👌🏼 Might become our new local once a week I think 👍🏽
