Sensational Chicken & NZ Kebabs (Mt Roskill) — Restaurant in Puketāpapa

Honestly if I could give 0 stars I would, to put a long story short this place and it's staff are the RUDEST people I have EVER encountered. Their customer service was absolutely TERRIBLE. My friend ordered an item off their menu which they weren't able to completely fulfill, once it was bought to their attention they proceeded to tell us that they couldn't refund us for the item because it was a "waste" [that sounds like a THEM problem] and that they could only partially refund the item which I didn't want. And for context, the issue was only bought up AFTER we had ordered and upon our own inspection of the menu item when we noticed it was missing something. They made NO attempt to tell us during the ordering process or even after they handed it over to us that whqt we ordered was missing a component, otherwise we wouldn't have ordered it.As a customer why should I be punished for their LACK of communication and shortcomings on their end? Not only did the individual I raised the issue with show no compassion or understanding, but he also proceeded to raise his voice at me which is totally UNPROFESSIONAL. We did eventually get a refund but his bad attitude and poor customer service ruined our appetite and overall experience. And to add insult my friends said that they observed him having an attitude and complaining about the refund when he was fetching it from the till [ I was faced away from him so couldn't see] and him and his staff proceeded to laugh, giggle and stare over at our table for the rest of the time we were there. This was a super disappointing experience and has left us with such a bad vibe that although their food is nice I wouldn't come back just due to the blatant disrespect and appalling customer service. Extremely Good Chicken and Kebabs.

I have been thinking about Sensational Chicken ever since graduating from University. The Mount Street store provided me a good feed during the difficult times and I always thought about trying sensational chicken since then.

The good news is that I finally bit the bullet and caved for the great sensational chicken pilgrimage. Happy to say, everything I had was exactly how it was all those years ago.

Ordering a snack box ($7), everything was fresh and extremely hot. Bossman did everything right with the snack box. Generous seasoning that made your lips tingle and a giant chicken thigh for your eyes, nose and lips to feast on.

The chicken was extremely tasty. It was succulent, moist, generously seasoned and most importantly, tasted better than KFC. It was so good infact, the first bite sent my mind back into a free fall with the happy memories I had all those years ago on Mount Street. You could say that this experience was quite "sensational".

Chips. Chips were good. Fresh, hot and perfectly salted. Chips with these three attributes are a must to ensure that the seasoning sticks to the fries and also so that the fries are moreish and not soggy. Although I do wish bossman would have shaken up the box before handing the goods over to distribute the seasoning, everything about this box was perfect. Who can complain about hot, fresh and salted fries? It's exactly what we expect when we order it.

For $7 in 2024. The value is there and the flavours are there. Can't recommend it enough.

This is a new spot that people may not know of they have been opened for awhile and there menu fried chicken, kebabs, burgers are a great combination and execution. They are located on the top of Mt Roskill shops and have to say not bad at all, pricing is great and meal offers are a good buy in the fried chicken selection.Have to say there chicken is not as greasy as KFC, has a great taste to it. Kids love there Kebabs. Burger meal was also good though a little more salad would be great. Not much parking on the main road but if you have not tried there menu if you are passing you may be surprised. Only one draw back and that's the wait time for your order to come but if you are patience you will be glad you waited and there chips are great. They have cubicles to seat and tables and chairs. Not bad for NZ Kebabs. Customer Service is ok as some of the boys are not clear in speaking but don't let that deter you from trying there menu. You need to repeat your order and as they give you an ordering receipt you can double check your order. This may be a franchise outlet as they have 4 in Auckland area competing against the likes of KFC, Texas chicken where they have there secret sauce recipes but if you are wanting to try a new menu selection and fried chicken if passing Mt Roskill why not.
