The KT — Restaurant in Rodney

Firstly, there is only one Tavern in Helensville. Imagine.... It's 7pm on a Saturday night and the semi final of super rugby is on! We are a group of 8 and we decide to head to the pub for a meal before the game as you do!! Game on!! BUT WHAT'S THIS? The place is essentially deserted except for a handful of local gents who sit at a leaner, their gaze temporarily slides in our direction as we enter. There is no one to offer service so we look for a menu ( only 2) and seat ourselves at one of the many empty tables and take in our vast empty surroundings lut up with hideous colours flashing lights. That should have been our warning sign but with limited options and wanting to support local, we persisted! The menu reads OK but no one came to take orders so one of us approached the bar and ordered for the table. The order was read back to confirm. Great. Our meals duely arrived except a risotto which somehow had been forgotten... It eventually arrived without cutlery and alas without being cooked properly. We returned it. The menu advertised 'sirloin' steak and we ordered three but what was served, was Not sirloin and we know our steak. The pork ribs were also ridiculously sweet to the point you could eat them. Other than that, the meal satisfied a basic bar meal. We ordered extra beers which were plonked unceremoniously on the end of the table concluding an epic fail in hospitality 101. When it came to pay, our host appreciated the risotto was not up to standard and didn't charge but alas two extra beers had been put on the bill.... This was rectified without any unnecessary communication. Please take action KT. Helensville needs you to...

Excellent Saturday Night Comedy Event. Couple small problems meant a little out of their depth handling larger crowds. Arrival had to lineup at food and drink area que to get tickets even though they had a till on the door checking. Food. ordered chips, after 90 mins never arrived, some people over 2 hrs. Guests gave phone nos to be rang when food ready...never happened. Staff tried hard so good for that. Comedy show when sun goes down needs lights.Headline act in complete darkness.

Minor things to fix but great local support for event...

Came in and ordered $15 wedges and some chicken nuggets, and this was the small size of food they gave us… Was sitting inside waiting for our food for 27 minutes and no one else was in here. Disappointed and frustrated with the service, was asking the guy how much longer it was going to take and he just stared and didn’t speak. The chicken nuggets came out and they were cold in the middle after all that time. Disgusting and quite frankly...
