Brewery Lane — Restaurant in South Island

Pretty awful food, measly portions and expensive. I'm guessing the positive reviews are from people who were drinking quite heavily, or just haven't had much good quality food in their life. We've been twice, the 2nd time was not by choice, and have tried 6 items on the menu between the four of us. Everything looks and tastes like it came from the freezer aisle of a gas station. I like supporting local businesses, but when you put almost zero effort into what you serve for high prices, well you're gonna get the truth, and I was being generous with the 2 star rating.

Reply to owners response 02.08.25: 50% off food?? I think you have us confused with other patrons. We never got any discounts and were at ground up a few weeks ago, before that we were there in the summer. I find that any time a business owner responds in such a defensive manner is a huge red flag and shows lack of professionalism. You only need to see my long history of reviews and take a look at your other negative reviews to know that I'm not exaggerating.
