New Wok Takeaway — Restaurant in Taranaki

Best little Fish n Chip Shop ever! I always have Fish n Chips when I visit my hometown. I've never found a great Fish n Chip Shop in Christchurch, they never taste as good as the North Islands. Last night I headed to Nolantown Takeaways after my sister-in-law recommended it. The fish was fresh, succulent and absolutely delicious. The chips were the best I've honestly ever tasted. Light, crunchy and there was no sign of fat on them or in the wrapping. I'd almost swear they weren't deep fried. The whole meal was so divine, I convinced mum we should have it all again with an extra fish for us both to enjoy. Believe me...you'd be hard pressed to find better in the whole country. You won't be disappointed, you'll be back for more.

Under new management, the same people that run Ferns Kai Waka (Usually seen at events like the Hawera Winter Festival, markets etc) Their burgers and other fast food items are very popular and often sell out fast. They also sell desserts like cheesecake and trifle. I HIGHLY recommend this takeaway shop, call ahead and order prior to arriving as they're quite popular 😊

Staff was friendly when we took a long shot on asking if their chips were cooked in a dedicated fryer, and gluten free. He was helpful and explained they only cook the gf chips and gf sausages and if you want a gf corn fritter then that too in the fryer, so I was quite happy to get to have my chip buddy that I'd been craving a while! (Home made just does not hit the same)
