Catching up with whanau, asked for a restaurant suggestion for my partners birthday and so Tika, it is. What went right: price per person; we had the buffet, well laid out and presented, good selection of meats, salads, desserts, textures and colors. Hot was hot, cold was chilled. Service was second to none with every attention afforded our group, from the time we walked in, to the time we left. Was it a good table? Right place, right time? I don't know, what I do know is that less is more. From receiving a pen to fill their guest book, although I hadn't asked, to my partner presented a complimentary birthday cake, which was garnished tactfully with cream, desicated coconut, chocolate sauce and caramelised sugar, conversing with staff, it made the difference between a great night and a magical one. What didn't go right: I ate too much, buffet, 5 serving, yeah I got my worth. Worthy notes: Sticky date, that butterscotch. Ambrosia, haven't had it in years and to taste one on par with my own, awesome. Seafood salad dressing, the taste was surreal and the zest from the red onion added perfectly to its appeal. Beef was flavoursome and tender, Mustard glaze on the Ham was subtle, with a nice amount of mustard seed kick. My girls loved the chips and deep fried selections, bread and butter, say no more, a wonderful, wonderful experience, thank you, will definitely...
