The first evening of the new year. Sign out saying they were short staffed which was totally understandable. We were warmly welcomed seated and drinks ordered. Even before we ordered our meals I could tell this team knows how to do calm under pressure. The only waitress on this night floated with ease from one table to the next making sure everyone was happy. Unfortunately they weren't doing pizzas because of the small team so we settled for something different. I had the mushroom risotto and my dad had the lamb, both were absolutely beautiful. Hope to try the pizza next time. Credit to Jesse and his chef team who were cooking up a storm in there. Thankyou!

It was a beautiful morning, we sat outside with a lovely view of the inlet and order the big breakfast & the plain Eggs Benedict on a spinach potato hash - both tasty. Hubby said was the best mocha he’d ever had 10/10 - big call but he’s the mocha expert. Also in his opinion the big breakfast was missing a couple of hash browns to make it. There’s plenty of inside seating with view which is were I would sit next time because the seagulls are seconds off stealing your food (that’s nothing the cafe has any control over and comes with a beautiful sea-view), but that’s my suggestion.

Went Jesse’s for dinner as we are travelling around the north. There were 5 of us and every meal was delicious, tasty and well crafted. I had a lamb shank and apple pie for dessert. The shank was extremely tasty and fell apart easily, yet still very moist. The apple pie was divine. I wasn’t expecting a whole pie and had to share as much I would have liked to finish it all. My only critique was that the restaurant left the front door open on a cold night and the food went cold before we could finish it.

We went there as a group of 5 for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 9.30. The place was reasonably busy when we arrived, but nothing dramatic (still a third of the tables free). We've been warned the the wait for food was of half an hour. Fair enough, we accepted that and ordered coffees and food, because we could see from the open kitchen that they had lots of staff working. The coffees arrived after 10, 15min, but one of them was missing and we had to ask for it. The food arrived after an hour of wait, and man we were disappointed! The poached eggs were fully set, and not really warm, as if they were prepared long ago. The rocket on the side of the egg beni plate wasn't wash properly. The "citrus hollandaise" was just a drizzle of tasteless sauce. We asked for complimentary servings of sauce that were bring without a smile. And the potato smoked salmon cake was really blend. Long story short: the wait is too long, the food is less than average and overpriced. I won't go there anymore, and will not recommend it.

For similar price, go to the Café in front of the 4square, where the food is better and served...

It’s a public holiday so we expected a wait, but it still wasn’t ideal. We cleaned up our table ourselves because it looked like the workers were rushed off their feet already (and some tables were still not clean after our meal bc they stayed busy) so we knew it would take a while for food, after 20 minutes I went up to the desk to order and got told to sit down and someone would come take our orders. Nothing happened. And then people who arrived well after us got their orders taken which is what really grinds my gears. We had been waiting about 40 minutes before we had to ask a passing worker to come and take our order. I knew it wouldn’t be that fast bc it was really busy, but to see people get their orders taken after we had already been there for ages was really aggravating especially since we didn’t eat breakfast because we went to the Anzac service, so being hangry increased my annoyance. Food came out a bit burnt but I’ll put it down to the fact that they were rushing. Still tasted alright. Just mad upset at the...

Staff were disorganised, unprofessional and quite frankly didn’t care about how long we had to wait. We had ordered a coffee, two juices, a cinnamon scroll, a small pizza and a caesar salad, two juices came out first. We had then waited for 40 minutes until asking where our food was. The waiter had said we were next. We then waited another 10 minutes before the coffee and over cooked scroll had been brought out. Another 10 minutes went by, we had been waiting for a whole hour until we asked for our food to be put into takeaway containers. This was also slow, we then headed to go and ask where our food was. Magically our food was ready and were told to pay for the food that we waited 1 hour for. We got to the car to eat our food and they had given me the wrong salad. Absolutely disappointed at the horrific customer service. WILL NOT BE BACK OR RECOMMEND THIS...
