It was an ok experience. Food wasn’t ready at the same time, and took a while to come, around 40 minutes for a time when we were one of the only people in the cafe. The coffees broke the time up, but again it took much longer than it should. I do understand all things take time but when the cafe is quiet and our order isn’t that large it shouldn’t take 15 minutes for coffee to arrive. Coffee was only ok, tasted mildly over extracted. Cabinet food and kitchen food do take different amounts of time to prepare and I would understand if they came out at different times, but the pasta and cabinet food came out first, 5 minutes later another meal arrived, another 5 minutes later the last meal arrived. That is an unnecessary and painful amount of time between each meal. Now the food. Most of the food was very good and we appreciate the accommodations that were made for us, however the pasta was subpar. The special was a “Creamy Pesto Chicken Pasta” and it sounded very tasty. However, I was let down. The chicken was nowhere to be found. Instead I found an extreme amount of mushrooms, which I did expect because of the name, but I didn’t expect the mushrooms to replace the chicken. I was incredibly disappointed because the sauce was tasty and the pasta was cooked well. However, unfortunately it only warrants 2 stars because of the slowness and missing parts of food. I work at 2 hospo jobs, both very fast paced places, with high turnover yet we don’t have these kinds of issues in my work places. The staff were friendly and all, but the person who took our order seemed abrupt. Which is fine, makes sense in a cafe, but it seemed like you were trying to push us away. Disappointing considering we had been before and had better...
Read moreUnfortunately had a very disappointing lunch today for Father’s Day. A group of 8 of us were dining and we were advised on ordering that there was a wait on food which we were prepared for and okay with. 7/8 peoples orders arrived, one of those being a stew which the waitress had her finger in when it was put down on the table. Everyone had finished their meals and I was still waiting for my meal which was a pizza (50 minute wait) and everyone else had received their meals sporadically 10-20mins prior. I understand the wait however it would have been nice to eat with everyone else at my table or be informed that it was still coming. I asked the front of house if the meal was still coming and it was brought out with no apology, explanation, or any remedy to the situation. It’s a shame because we have come to Churchills annually for Father’s Day and I don’t think we will be...
Read moreGreat service, great food, good coffee, but once again, lacking on facilities for parents. I enjoy taking my 8 month old out to cafes with me. However, once again, the lack of facilities for parents with young ones let down our experience. There was good access with a ramp going into the cafe and a disabled toilet, enough to fit a pram into. However, there were no baby changing facilities, and they only had one highchair (which had seen much better days) with a broken strap, so you couldn't strap baby in. I had to wedge her in with blankets to stop her from sliding out. It's hard to relax as a parent when going out when the basic facilities...
