We stopped around 2-3ish pm on a Saturday and the hot food was terrible. I chose a hot dog and the batter was hard and chewy. I asked her if they had some fresh hot food and she suggested I could take a lasagne for free instead. That was not the best either as the outer had started to harden. The hot chips looked stale so I asked if fresh hot chips would be ok, so she made some fresh. The decor was shabby and I was getting a faint smell of something rotten. Flues were flying around the place, I noted at least 6, some of which were flying around the food area. Needs a total makeover and fresh food. On a lighter note, some fresh leaves of uncut bread and fresh cheese leave were sitting near the till so I purchased 1 of each. I'm hoping they will taste as good...
Read moreMy fiancee and I are visiting Tokoroa for a few days and went into town for brunch. We came upon a cafe and I'm all about the menu. I didnt think their range offered value for money so we went down a few shops and found this quaint little cafe with noone in there. I checked the menu. I settled on the Pork Chop meal which came with 2 eggs, chips, mushrooms and a salad. My fiancee had the lamb chop meal which comprised of 3 lamb chops, 2 eggs, salad and chips. To drink I had a deliciously flavoured iced chocolate and he had a coke although after drinking my drink he also ordered an iced chocolate.

unfortunately the fish burger was a complete let down, clearly not fresh fish, small portion, and not much else on the burger. bun wasn't even heated. not worth the price.
the sausage roll looked good but again, a let down.
premesis was clean, free tomato sauce.
but I do not recommend this place.
