The Village Kitchen — Restaurant in Waikato

Both my husband and I have been here a few times now and I thought it was about time I write a review. The hospitality is fantastic and staff are willing to do anything to make sure that you have a great experience. The food in my opinion gets better and better every time we come in. Prices are very reasonable. This time we paid just over 100 and that was for 1 entree (Chicken Pate with Cranberry) to share, 2 mains (Pork ribs and pork belly) 1 dessert (Crème brûlée) also to share 1 bottle of wine and 1 bottle of beer. Atmosphere is nice with a good selection of background music. The only thing I can suggest is maybe dimming the lights a bit this would defiantly help the atmosphere side of things. Cannot wait to dine there again and highly recommend...

We were a group of 6 ( 1 under 5) and had booked ahead. Our table was ready and the service was friendly and welcoming. We ordered drinks and food promptly, as you do with a 4 year old.....she had chosen fries for her dinner. Our entrees arrived and it would have helped if her fries had come at the same time, but they arrived shortly after. For our mains there were 2 steaks ordered and these were declared amazing by the recipients, 1 lamb salad which was devoured appreciatively, a chicken roulade, the accompaniments were a little disappointing and the beef tri tip, unfortunately this was so chewy and tough it was sent back uneaten. Simply All-round Fabulous! We booked a couple hours beforehand for 7pm. Warm attentive staff, all our meals were delicious. It was a fairly busy night and our table of 7 was well looked after, wasn't too bad of wait for dishes to arrive all on time and they all looked glossy magazine worthy and we're enjoyed immensely. Our entree's were: Shared cheesy garlic bread (thin crust pizza style) & Calamari! Our main meals were: 3 x surf & turf, 2 x lamb shank, pork belly, triple meat burger.
