Floyd's Café — Restaurant in Wellington

This place is so great - I love the fact that Floyd's cater to us gluten free folk! I know that most places have like, one GF option on the menu if you're lucky, with the ability to make other items gluten free for like a zillion dollars extra (I've told myself a million times not to exaggerate), but Floyd's have numerous GF items in the cabinet AND on the menu. Heck, they even have a Cookies and Cream milkshake made with a GF brownie. The food itself was delicious - I had the GF stuffed potato, GF breakfast slice and the special Whittaker's Hot Chocolate with chilli! No dinner for me tonight, I'm still stuffed!

Service wise, the ladies were friendly and our food was bought out to us within five minutes, even though the place was packed on a Sunday arvo. I just wish I'd taken some pictures of the food, I'll have to do...

Nestled within Island Bays shopping centre is this family friendly cafe with park style seating and tables with highchairs. Well stocked supply of cabinet food with everything made on site, and reasonably priced. Coffee is supreme and tasted so good. However our breakfast meals were not as good. The lambs fry had been fried within an inch of its life and served with julienne strips of bacon . The French toast had not been soaked long enough and was flavoursome and bacon was chewy.Not worth the $17.50 Should have got pie and coke special at $8 The courtyard outside...

Service reasonably fast and friendly, reasonable menu selection. Coffee was a bit lack lustre. Let down somewhat by two things - I ordered 'chorizo and blackpudding on hashbrown', which came instead on roast potato with no explanation. But meal was tasty. I then had an almond croissant, which was somewhat like eating a dry weetbix, stale and flavourless. Mentioned this to the chef and he did seem open to...
