I’m unable to review the latte I bought here because it was too cold to drink by the time I returned from the supermarket toilet. It’s not Whanake’s fault that I had to wait for a backpacker who took eight minutes to complete his first wash and defecation for several days.

However it is their fault not to have their own toilet for customers.

Instead they out-source this service to the supermarket across the road.

I’m sure local customers are well-aware of this.

But beware those travellers seeking both a...

This cafe really adds to the vibe of Westport! Very chill atmosphere with a great outdoor seating area that is partially covered (for those rainy days). The coffee is great and they have smoothies, a selection of gluten-free, dairy free and vegan treats, and some pastries available as cabinet food. Best coffee in town. Hands down. Staff are super lovely and the garden sitting area out the back is comfortable and tranquil. The shop is full of amazing gift ideas that are ethically (TradeAid) and/or locally made. They have a good variety of plant-based milks. We had an epic oat latte and almond latte. Very pleasant surprise.Kinda guessed (as us cyclists can)that this would be a beau t place for coffee,but wait there's more.The street outside tables were in shade but as my photo shows,out back is a funky lovely seating area.The girls will enjoy browsing the shelves,us guys the photos/frames on the wall or maybe find something in the mag pile.Light food choice but yummy as.Go and enjoy.Cheers
