Rhodes BBQ Smokehouse — Restaurant in Ikeja

I'd passed through the area and seen the sign many times but never made the stop so when a meetup for a group I belong to was fixed for Rhodes BBQ, I knew I had to go. Parking is off-street and limited so be prepared for that. You can choose to seat at the outdoor seating area or within the main building (which was much smaller than I thought). The ambience was welcoming, I liked the large airy feel to the place. The food is good! I ordered the BBQ quarter chicken with fries and also tasted the St. Louis style ribs, both types of meat were quite tender and succulent. The sides were well done too. It was a decent place. Nice and simple environment.

The lighting was okay and the decoration was not too loud allowing it to have a relaxing ambience.

The staff were courteous, friendly and generally very neat.

The pizza was amazing, one of the best I have tasted in Lagos, the chef really did a good job with the pizza 🍕. My friends ordered sharwarma which was okay according to them, I did not get to taste it.

However, management needs to work on the wait time, we waited for almost an hour before getting our pizzas for starters, asides the nudge on the wait time every other thing was okay.

I need to mention one more thing, the packaging of their take out was super, I ordered chicken and fries with garlic bread which tasted great by the way. I really loved how it was professionally handled (I wish I can rate you guys 5stars on google for the packaging of the takeout).

Lovely quaint place in Ikeja, just around the corner from Shoprite / Ikeja mall. There's outside seating area as well as indoor. The outdoor area has umbrellas to keep the sun away from you. Inside you have seating downstairs as well as upstairs. The Place is intimate yet open space. There's huge windows bringing in the Lagos light. At night I can imagine the scene. The menu has a small selection but the food makes up for it. The smoked smell of the food arrived before the food did. Your meat selection is only pork, beef or chicken. All basted with bbq sauce. As for dessert, compliments to the chef. We had cheese cake & carrot cake. Cheese cake was a small portion, as per the menu, yet the carrot cake was a huge portion (we ordered the small portion).
