Online, this hotel was enticing with the patronizing pictures of rooms and other facilities. However the exact opposite was the case when we arrived. We had made a booking online but no feedback and had to keep calling to be sure we had a room waiting for us because we came in by a late evening flight. Payment was made ahead (greatest mistake).
The room allocated was dirty, dingy and oozing dampness. It was located in a poorly lit corridor and extreme end of that floor (or annex building away from the main reception, so safety is compromised). Of course, the room was rejected and the manager had to provide an alternative pent house room that attracted 50% additional charges.
The pent house room is accessible by a winding narrow staircase and one had to go round various bends to get to the room. The door was too ordinary a kick to it will bring it down. Its key was faulty and the frame makes it easier for any intruder to just insert any object to open it for outside (I kept vigil all night) .
The air-conditioning box (a window type) made more noise that cooling the room. Torn bedsheet, water heater was not working (gracefully the tea kettle was handy). WC toilet was not flushing we had to fetch water and flush manually. The bathroom (WC side) had no.floor drain so the attempt to clean the toilet by ourselves led to a mini pool.
Not a single hanger to godo guests clothings in the wardrobe. The room also oozed tobacco fumes. Daybreak sunlight revealed the bedsheet wasn't white but grey from old age or overused.
The facility is a brand killer for presken. It needs a comprehensive overhaul. We didn't wait to check the complimentary breakfast before we rushed out of the premises and looked for another hotel few meters away.

Read moreI was really disappointed, towels weren't provided even after asking several times till I took a shower the next day that the water from the bathroom almost flooded my room, I then called to tell them, even then they asked me if I needed floor towel or body towel? Imagine?! So the oy time you can bring towels is if your rooms were flooded? Even when they brought the towels, they weren't clean. I asked for a fork to eat salad I bought from a fast food joint, I was told no because I didn't buy food from them, even though I bought drinks close to 7,000 naira, I'm not entitled to a fork just because I didn't buy food. The heater didn't work, the AC was extremely cold which was a plus but I couldn't take my night shower because I was cold and needed to bathe with hot water but there was none. While checking out, I needed to wait for my cab, I was told to leave the reception area even though that was were I was supposed to seat. I was asked to go seat in the restaurant, I really don't know why they're like that. Then ordering a drink almost took an hour to bring to my room, with constant calls to the restaurant to remind them. This was my first time staying there but I won't be coming back. Or recommending. They need to work on a...

The pros of lodging in Presken Hotel at Obafemi Awolowo Way Ikeja Location is spot on Value for your money Appreciable exterior security Tasty meals Courteous staff
Now, below are some areas in which the hotel's management needs to improve upon:
Maintenance: the property is suffering from a lack of adequate maintenance. Everything is not sparkling. They should create a section for smokers: I change my room thrice because of the Intense smell of cigarettes... The interior look rowdy. I felt so uneasy about the rowdiness. The rooms could be better maintained. The mattress is spent, the doors are fragile, and they don't lock firmly when closed. The elevator was broken TV Lacks any meaningful channels: this is not a surprise.
But honestly, you get what you paid for, and I will only return if it's an emergency and I need to spend...
