Read moreChecked out Forno recently, and overall, it was a decent experience. Started with the Mozzarella Bites, which were nice, followed by the Hot Honey Diavolo pizza…ironically, not hot or spicy, but still tasty. Wrapped things up with their tiramisu, and I have to say, that was hands down the best tiramisu I’ve had in Nigeria.
The decor is minimalist and on-brand, nothing too flashy. The space itself is quite small, so to avoid disappointment, I’d recommend making a reservation in advance. The atmosphere was also quite hot, probably from the pizza oven but they mentioned their AC was down, so hopefully, that’s not a regular issue.
One interesting detail: their table water comes with no label or branding. In a place like Lekki, where water quality is a real concern, that feels like an oversight. If they’re using a proper filtration system, great but a little transparency (or at least transferring it into a glass jar in front of customers) would go a long way.
All in all, Forno is a welcome addition to Lekki. It’s nice to see a spot like this outside of VI, and I’ll definitely be back. Hopefully to a cooler dining...
Read moreWe tried out Forno on this Sunday afternoon. We were the only ones there for a bit so it was very cosy and properly air conditioned. However as more people came in, the restaurant got a bit hot. Also, I think the heat from their Forno was getting into the main restaurant a bit and increasing the heat in there. So be prepared. If you go on a crowded busy day, you might not enjoy it thoroughly, atmosphere wise. Also, there were a bit of flies here and there which we didn’t like. But let’s get to the food. The pizza was delicious and fresh! I have to give it to them. I don’t even really like pizza but I enjoyed theirs a lot. We got the roasted marinara which was honestly mid and we got the hot honey chicken which was the highlight of our lunch. I recommend hot honey chicken. We didn’t try out their cocktails so I don’t have anything to say on that end. Pro tip for the day is before going to any Lagos restaurant, do a quick research on their menu and prices so you can be well informed. To end this review I would say I liked Forno and id recommend others to...
