Checkpoint Restaurant and Lounge — Restaurant in Wuse II

Arrived Checkpoint to a wonderful smile from the waiting front desk. We had the option of sitting out or dining inside but after a hot sunny day, AC inside was highly needed.

We got comfortable and ordered the specialty that brought us there. Fisherman soup with Poundo and Spaghetti Agilo.

The meals came out on time and it was delicious. There was no complain whatsoever from the meal other than it was filling. We ate and couldn’t get up. The environment was calm with movies on screen. I guess it comes more alive at night time.

Checkpoint is quite a good spot to enjoy great meals and view the streets of Abuja...

This was my first time here and let me tell you… What a first impression, the food? Solid 👍 the ambiance is so cozy, beautiful and spacious. But the service? Absolutely unmatched, thanks to Paulina.

Paulina is the kind of server you hope for but rarely get, she is professional, incredibly knowledgeable and has an impeccable memory seriously, I think she could recite the whole menu in her sleep. From the moment I sat down, she made me feel welcomed and comfortable. And somehow balanced been efficient and super friendly at the same time, she got that perfect mix of charm and skill that turns a good dining experience into a great one.

Because of Paulina, the service was second to none, and I’m already looking forward to my next...

A relatively new rooftop restaurant and lounge with a beautiful ambience, though the food service leaves room for improvement. We ordered the Nigerian platter with extra sweet potato and turkey chops on the side, along with lamb chops and plantain. Unfortunately, we were only informed that the sweet potato was unavailable when the food was being served—this should have been communicated earlier.

The lamb chops could also be more tender.

For drinks, I had the Blue Paradise mocktail, which is supposedly a best seller, though I didn’t quite see the appeal.

The restaurant has great potential if the service improves.
