Restaurant Review: Dvor
Located in the heart of the city, Dvor offers a dining experience that blends contemporary elegance with a touch of tradition. Upon entering, you are immediately greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is tastefully designed, with a mix of modern elements and rustic touches that create a cozy yet upscale vibe. The soft lighting and comfortable seating make it an ideal spot for a relaxed dinner with friends or a romantic evening out.
The menu at Dvor is a well-curated selection of both local and international dishes, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients. One of the highlights of our meal was the starters. The roasted beet salad was a delightful combination of earthy beets, creamy goat cheese, and a tangy balsamic glaze. The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was equally impressive. Another standout was the seafood chowder, which was rich and flavorful, packed with fresh seafood, and served with a perfectly toasted slice of bread.
For the main course, we opted for the pan-seared salmon and the grilled ribeye steak. The salmon was cooked to perfection, with a crispy skin and tender, flaky meat. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and well-seasoned, adding a nice contrast to the richness of the fish. The ribeye steak, while flavorful, was slightly overcooked for our liking. However, the accompanying sauce and sides were delicious, which made up for the minor shortcoming.
Dvor also offers an impressive selection of wines, which the knowledgeable staff are happy to help you navigate. The wine we chose paired beautifully with our meal and added an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. Speaking of the staff, they were attentive and friendly throughout the evening, making sure that our needs were met without being overly intrusive.
Dessert at Dvor was a sweet end to a satisfying meal. We indulged in the chocolate fondant, which was decadent and rich, with a molten center that oozed out when cut. It was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which provided a nice contrast to the warm, gooey chocolate. The portion size was just right, leaving us feeling satisfied without being overly full.
While our overall experience at Dvor was very enjoyable, there were a few areas where the restaurant could improve. The pacing of the meal was slightly off, with some dishes arriving a bit too quickly, making us feel rushed at times. Additionally, while the food was generally excellent, there were a few minor inconsistencies in the preparation, such as the overcooked steak.
Despite these small issues, Dvor remains a solid choice for anyone looking for a good meal in a pleasant setting. The restaurant’s attention to detail, both in the food and the ambiance, makes it a place worth visiting. While it may not be the best dining experience in the city, it certainly ranks high on the list, and we would definitely return for...

Read moreThe food is very good, and the overall atmosphere is great, shame the place is ruined by scummy business practices.
The prices of beverages are not listed on the menu in an obviously deliberate attempt to overcharge a lot, a practice strictly enforced by the acting management (the prices used to be listed on the menu during my previous visits and they had a wine list as well, shameful to resort to cheap tricks like these).
The tables are extremely tightly packed to the point where it is impossible to pass through without bumping into anyone or asking someone to stand up in order to go to the toilet, which is once again incredibly greedy as it both creates an unpleasant experience for the patrons, and it makes for an understaffed service (the food took 1.5hrs to arrive).
The live music on weekends is good, shame the owner/manager gets to decide which songs can be ordered by guests, running frantically from table to table and even threatening to throw someone out if they sang some song again.
Would recommend only going when...
