This place is very cute. Dark and intimate atmosphere with vintage decorations and tables for two, four, or slightly larger parties. Service was slow and we had to try a few times to get the waiters' attentions and remind them of things we had asked for, but it was quite busy so I understand (we came on a Saturday night around 20.30, highly recommend booking a table as they are often full). However, the servers were very kind and friendly, and contributed to a pleasant experience.

The food itself was alright but surprisingly lacking in salt. Although I would prefer food undersalted as opposed to oversalted, I was surprised at the amount we needed (each table is equipped with a salt shaker). We started with the Pao de Queijo, which were dough balls filled with cheese. They were quite floury and chewy, feeling more like undercooked bread with cheese than what I expected. There was no flavour aside from flour and mild cheese, but salt and aioli helped. For the main, we got the Baked Loins of Klippfisk and Coxinha. The klippfisk was well cooked an a huge portion, but lacked seasoning, especially in the sauce which was bland and very thin. The Coxinha were good (fried balls filled with shredded chicken), but also lacked flavour although they were beautifully cooked. The Coxinha came with a side salad, which was just some lettuce with a lot of raw red onion and huge spears of cucumber and paprika drizzled in oil. It didn't add much, and the amount of red onion was slightly unpleasant. For dessert we got the carrot cake, which was very simple and similar to what you might find at the bakery section of a grocery store.

I can't complain too much, as the food was fine and decently priced, and the location was ideal. However, I can't say I would recommend...

Came in here to have a little me time alone since I was in town for a course. Everything was absolutely STUNNING. I’ll start from the top - being greeted directly from coming into a busy restaurant and shown where to sit (and I was nervous when I said table for one when a table sitting close to the door turned their heads). The atmosphere is soooo cozy and dimly lit. Got a little table for myself which seems to be made of an old sowing machine foot (love it). Ordered a glass of red Montepulcciano wine (perfect temp) and started with the Ceviche which was OUT OF THIS WORLD sooo freaking good. Easily top 3 best ceviches I’ve ever had. Had the Meddalion meat medium for a main and again blown away. Cooked perfectly and so good. And then a glass of grahams LBV along with the cheesecake. At this point I was STUFFED and ate half my cheesecake, took a break, and went back at it. All this time, the staff asked me how the food is, is everything okay, came when my glass was empty. Basically gave me all the space I wanted as a single seating but also made sure I had everything I needed. Even made small talk halfway (which I appreciated especially considering it was only one person serving to a full restaurant and I’m quite impressed). Gotta say, anytime I come back to this town again I will make sure to always come back to visit. This was an amazing way to spend a date...

Vi ankom restauranten og sÄ raskt at uteserveringen hadde flere ledige bord. Inne var det ogsÄ langt fra fullt. Likevel ble vi ikke mÞtt ved ankomst eller tilbudt bordservice. Vi mÄtte selv spÞrre om Ä fÄ en meny, og ble henvist til Ä gÄ til en egen luke for Ä bestille. Dette skapte en kÞ av frustrerte gjester, og hele systemet virket lite gjennomtenkt.

Til tross for at det var god plass bÄde ute og inne, virket det som fullstendig kaos pÄ kjÞkkenet og blant de ansatte. ServitÞrene hadde ingen oversikt, og det ble raskt tydelig at de verken opererte med bordnummer eller hadde noen form for koordinering. Opplegget fÞltes amatÞrmessig fra fÞrste stund.

Da jeg endelig fikk bestilt, etter Ä ha stÄtt i kÞ i 10 minutter, satt jeg med en konstant usikkerhet rundt om bestillingen i det hele tatt var forstÄtt, og om personen som tok imot ordren faktisk ville klare Ä formidle den videre korrekt. Systemet var forvirrende, rotete og stressende, og det motsatte av hva man forventer nÄr man setter seg ned for et avslappende mÄltid. Det tar Äpenbart kortere tid Ä ha en eller to servitÞrer som tar bestillinger ved bordene, enn Ä mÄtte stÄ i kÞ i en luke hvor alt som foregÄr innenfor luka er rent kaos. Hvilket geni er det som har innfÞrt dette systemet?

Ventetiden pÄ maten var uforholdsmessig lang. Hele tiden satt jeg og lurte pÄ om maten faktisk ville komme, og det var Äpenbart at personalet ikke hadde noen kontroll pÄ rekkefÞlge eller innhold i bestillingene. Det hele toppet seg da servitÞren etter lang ventetid kom med hovedretten, en biff indrefilet og presenterte den som biff tartar, som jeg faktisk hadde bestilt som forrett. Snakk om Ä ha 0 interesse og kunnskap om maten man serverer.

Som om ikke det var nok, var servitÞren pÄ vei til Ä la hovedretten stÄ igjen pÄ bordet samtidig som forretten endelig ankom. Jeg mÄtte selv si ifra og be dem ta hovedretten med tilbake slik at jeg kunne spise forretten fÞrst og fÄ en varm hovedrett etterpÄ. Dette burde vÊre helt elementÊrt for enhver restaurant, men her var det null kontroll og null forstÄelse for hvordan en mÄltidsopplevelse skal foregÄ.

NĂ„r hovedretten omsider kom tilbake, var det fortsatt skuffelse. Biffen var smaklĂžs, anonym, og noe overstekt. Jeg ble aldri spurt om hvordan jeg Ăžnsket den stekt ved bestilling heller. Potetene var i liten mengde, og forsĂžkt “kamuflert” med en overdreven mengde salat for Ă„ fĂ„ tallerkenen til Ă„ se fyldigere ut. Et billig triks.

Ølen som ble servert var ogsĂ„ skuffende – lunken og med lite kullsyre. PĂ„ en varm sommerdag bĂžr det vĂŠre det minste man kan forvente at Ăžlen er kald og frisk. Og skulle man Ăžnske Ă„ bestille en ny Ăžl, mĂ„ man igjen stille seg i den samme trege kĂžen ved luka – en opplevelse som frister lite nĂ„r man ser at folk stĂ„r der i ti minutter uten Ă„ bli ekspedert. Dette er ikke bare frustrerende for gjestene, men er ogsĂ„ noe restauranten Ă„penbart taper penger pĂ„.

Til slutt satt jeg igjen med én tanke: Jeg gledet meg mest til Ä forlate stedet. Det som skulle vÊrt en hyggelig restaurantopplevelse i flott vÊr ble isteden en kaotisk, ustrukturert og frustrerende seanse. NÄr man i tillegg vet hvilke priser denne restauranten opererer med, fÞles det hele som en ren fornÊrmelse.

Oppsummert var dette rett og slett en restaurantopplevelse preget av kaos og null system, med sterkt overpriset middelmÄdig mat. Rett og slett en skam Ä kreve sÄpass hÞye priser og tilby en sÄ amatÞrmessig totalopplevelse med servitÞrer som har NULL kunnskap om hva de serverer. Her er det null system, null matglede og null...

Det hele toppet seg da servitĂžren etter lang ventetid kom med hovedretten, en biff indrefilet og presenterte den som biff tartar, som jeg faktisk hadde bestilt som forrett. Snakk om Ă„ ha 0 interesse og kunnskap om maten man serverer. Som om ikke det var nok, var servitĂžren pĂ„ vei til Ă„ la hovedretten stĂ„ igjen pĂ„ bordet samtidig som forretten endelig ankom. Jeg mĂ„tte selv si ifra og be dem ta hovedretten med tilbake slik at jeg kunne spise forretten fĂžrst og fĂ„ en varm hovedrett etterpĂ„. Dette burde vĂŠre helt elementĂŠrt for enhver restaurant, men her var det null kontroll og null forstĂ„else for hvordan en mĂ„ltidsopplevelse skal foregĂ„. NĂ„r hovedretten omsider kom tilbake, var det fortsatt skuffelse. Biffen var smaklĂžs, anonym, og noe overstekt. Jeg ble aldri spurt om hvordan jeg Ăžnsket den stekt ved bestilling heller. Potetene var i liten mengde, og forsĂžkt “kamuflert” med en overdreven mengde salat for Ă„ fĂ„ tallerkenen til Ă„ se fyldigere ut. Et billig triks. Ølen som ble servert var ogsĂ„ skuffende – lunken og med lite kullsyre. PĂ„ en varm sommerdag bĂžr det vĂŠre det minste man kan forvente at Ăžlen er kald og frisk. Og skulle man Ăžnske Ă„ bestille en ny Ăžl, mĂ„ man igjen stille seg i den samme trege kĂžen ved luka – en opplevelse som frister lite nĂ„r man ser at folk stĂ„r der i ti minutter uten Ă„ bli ekspedert. Dette er ikke bare frustrerende for gjestene, men er ogsĂ„ noe restauranten Ă„penbart taper penger pĂ„. Til slutt satt jeg igjen med Ă©n tanke: Jeg gledet meg mest til Ă„ forlate stedet. Det som skulle vĂŠrt en hyggelig restaurantopplevelse i flott vĂŠr ble isteden en kaotisk, ustrukturert og frustrerende seanse. NĂ„r man i tillegg vet hvilke priser denne restauranten opererer med, fĂžles det hele som en ren fornĂŠrmelse. Oppsummert var dette rett og slett en restaurantopplevelse preget av kaos og null system, med sterkt overpriset middelmĂ„dig mat. Rett og slett en skam Ă„ kreve sĂ„pass hĂžye priser og tilby en sĂ„ amatĂžrmessig totalopplevelse med servitĂžrer som har NULL kunnskap om hva de serverer. Her er det null system, null matglede og null service. Styr unna.
