2023: Helvet is always good foods and great service. This time my Halibut was really overcooked and dry. Very surprising as usually they cook everything perfect. I should of sent it back i hate complaining! Next time i will send back. asked for more truffled aioli that came with 2 tiny pieces of dry bread to start aioli needed to make bread edible.) so very kind server brought me another bowl of aioli which i put the whole thing on the halibut to make it more palatable.. the smoked char tartar was delicately smoked and a beautiful presentation was not served with any toast or crackers which was sorely needed and lovely server Edyta brought me some crisp rye toasts that should of been served with the tartar. Delicious appetizer. A perfect evening, service was impeccable and Edyta was professional, caring, knowledgeable and made me an absolute perfect dry gin martini with just a tiny splash of vermouth (my request for just a splash) it was perfect. Her kindness and attentiveness to anything i needed was well received! She was by far the best server with welcoming smile that i ever have had at Hvelvet. Tusen Takk Edyta. The brunost ice cream was the star of The evening.

2022: Excellent Service by Marie & her staff. Everyone is professional and kind. Knowledgeable of the menu and most importantly attentive and caring that your dining experience is superb. Food is delicious. Lightly smoked salmon dinner is very good and perfectly cooked! Mussels are sweet and fresh. The burger is tops. I prefer the french fries over sweet potato fries. Aioli perfect. Dined here many times this summer and enjoyed everything! Marie is a delight. Thank you to all! ...

I celebrated my birthday at Hvelvet Restaurant in Lillehammer, and it was an unforgettable experience! As a local, I can honestly say this is one of the best restaurants in Lillehammer for food, atmosphere, and service. Enjoyed sitting outside on a beautiful evening, and every dish was cooked to perfection — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

What makes Hvelvet truly special is the unique setting: the restaurant is located in the old Norges Bank building, where Norway’s gold reserves were stored during World War II. Dining next to the historic vault adds an extra layer of charm you won’t find anywhere else.

If you’re visiting Lillehammer and looking for fine dining, or if you’re a local wanting a memorable night out, I can highly recommend Hvelvet. I can’t wait...

It is a very modern and nicely decorated restaurant. But the thing is that from one side it has a very nice wine list with a very large selection of wines from all over the world. And also very friendly and professional staff. But from another side food not tasty at all. Actually they are trying to decorate plates nicely, but it doesn't help. We got beef for the price about €33 and it was cooked some time ago and was seemply warmed when we order it... Sorry but 3*...
