We had high hopes for trying this place for dinner while in town due to the high ratings. The sushi was great but the customer service and lack of professionalism left us shocked. We ordered an order of the goyza. When it came out it appeared instantly that something was wrong. It appeared to be a layer of burned cheese topped with cold, mushy dumplings, all stuck together. When we attempted to pick a dumpling up with chopsticks it fell apart as it was fused to the bottom layer. We informed the waitress who brought the plate back to the chef only to return with the dumplings saying that’s how it’s supposed to be. You could hold up the entire dish by one dumpling, there was no way to even separate them, and they were not even close to being warm. We even picked up the dish by a dumpling and waved it around to show her what we were talking about, thinking maybe something just went wrong in the kitchen. When speaking to our main waitress later she informed us that the dumplings are designed to somehow be cut with a fork and knife and eaten with the cheese cracker around them? There doesn’t appear to be any mention of the “cheese cracker” on the menu. She then offered to bring back the dish for a second time from the kitchen after sitting back there for 10 minutes. Maybe it’s a cultural difference but we’ve never experienced being told “that’s how it is” when a dish is clearly inedible, or still having to pay for it.
