Venus Bar — Restaurant in Lillestrøm

Went to Venus Bar for a quiet refuge in the shadows from a very warm Saturday evening around 1800 hours. Some guests already seated but not at all packed. Ordered beer for all at NOK 120 per 0.4l. Expensive beer yes, but not outrageous as things go in Norway. Sat down in the shadow, all is fine.

Then out of nothing a fight breaks out betweeen two of the staff (or potentially one staffer and a friend of the staffer). Not a verbal fight, a physical one! After perhaps a minute of watching in disbelief brawling and shouting 10 meters away, one guy ends up on the ground in a headlock. Then a few minutes of shouting about respect etc etc breaks out, albeit no physical fighting.

Obviously we did a quick bottoms up, asked for the bill and headed for the door. Even as we exited perhaps five mins after the brawl started, the two antagonists were sitting inside Venus loudly discussing events.

Quite a surreal first visit to Venus Bar, and at least a couple of my co-visitors will be very hard to convince to ever set foot...
