Rallar'n Pub & Kro — Restaurant in Narvik

As a tourist I would not recommend this place because they don’t like foreigners. We were a small party who wished to have a decent beer. We understood all the tables were booked for dinner (it was 3.30 pm) and it was fine for us to have it at the counter sitting on the stools. After a while we were told to move from it and sit in a hotel lobby to finish our beer. I, myself refused and remained at the counter chatting with a Norwegian lad. ENGLISH: We had dinner here a few nights ago and chose from the menu a dish called “bido” which described reindeer meat with root vegetables. They brought us a soup, and the first answer from our side was: “it is not for us” and they told us that the dish was that and Bido in Norwegian means soup … the menu was all written in English (the restaurant is located in the lobby of an international hotel) and it was not written anywhere that it was a soup. For other dishes it was clearly marked. We ordered 2 dishes and asked to change them as we were expecting 2 steaks … in the end they charged us 50% of the cost and this situation was really unpleasant as not writing correctly on the menu was a mistake of the restaurant and not of us customers!

ITALIANO: Abbiamo cenato qui qualche sera fa e abbiamo scelto dal menu in piatto chiamato “bido” che riportava come descrizione carne di renna con verdure. Ci è stata portata una zuppa, e lamprima risposta damparte nostra è stata: “non è per noi” e ci è stato risposto che il piatto era quello e che in norvegese, Bido, significa zuppa … il menu era tutto scritto in inglese (ilristorante si trova nella hall di un hotel internazionale) e non era scritto da nessuna parte che fosse una zuppa. Per altri piatti era perfettamente segnalato.
