Punjabi Masala - Rosenhoff — Restaurant in Oslo

Went to this place a couple of years ago when it serviced taxi drivers and was almost like a “daaba” Quick, cheapish and fairly good.

Arrived there yesterday to find a completely different restaurant which has been revamped. Decor and ambiance are nice, service is very good- sadly they just have not put the same energy into the food. At best it’s mediocre- you have to order from a combo menu which is annoying especially for Desi sharing styles. Both dishes drowned in sauce, a sad few pieces of lettuce and some dry rice.

Surprised by the reviews, especially by South Asians. Where have you guys been eating - such low standards and how can one consider using statements like best Indian in Oslo, etc.

So much potential but a big let down. Don’t waste your time...

As you enter the restaurant, it is written on the blackboard which dish they recommend. We decided to order not 1 but 2 of it and share it at the table, along with a butter chicken. It was flavourless and horrible. We asked to switch one of them with another butter chicken. At first the waitress said no, and after we explained how bad it was, she obliged. She gave us another butter chicken but it was equally horrible. This is the worst indian/Pakistani food I've EVER had. The taste and consistency of food was disgusting. Also te garlic naan was nasty. Do not go, we got foodpoisoning!! The food was originally good in taste but 3 out of 4 of our group members got foodpoisoning after eating at the restaurant on the 17th of September 2023. We ate different foods which makes it even more concerning. I myself ate Chicken tikka masala, friend of mine ate a chickpea dish number 72, and one of us ate something with lamb. The only person who didn't get a food poisoning ate just rice and naan bread, so no sauce. What an awful experience for a cozy, over all 4.1 star rated restaurant. 0/5 would...
