The atmosphere is great and it’s a really needed entertainment place for this critical hub in the inner city… but… the food…

We decided to have pizza. My girlfriend is gluten intolerant & dairy-free, and the gluten-free pizza bottom had a spongy texture and smelled like stinky wet running sneakers after running in swampy Østmarka in early Spring. One bite in the pizza and it was sent back. It may as well have been a pizza bottom from COOP Mega across the way. I had the diavola, but the middle was soggy. It was ok but I wouldn’t write home to Mom about it. We also bought a bottle of the Saveroni Rosso, and no complaints there.

When we complained about the pizza, the waiter took it back to the kitchen and the manager/cook laughed or scoffed at our comments. Then the next time a different waiter came around, we asked to have plain fries like the ones delivered to the table next to us. The waiter misunderstood the plain fries for the jaloñeno-infused chili fries (that were also delivered to that table) and said “no they’re not gluten-free” then became annoyed and flippant to us when we asked about the plain fries again. It’s clear that their start-up at the restaurant has not been going smoothly.

If you want a delicious gluten-free pizza, I would go to Vettakollen Pizza at the t-bane stop on Line 1. Otherwise, Carls offers a great atmosphere and vibe for after work drinks (but skip the pizza), which is much needed for...

👎 Absolutely TERRIBLE place to watch sports! DO NOT go here for football, soccer, or any kind of sports event. We went to watch the Eurocup final with friends, and while they had plenty of TVs/screens, our screen was lagging badly. The room next door kept screaming about goals and exciting moments way before we saw them, ruining the entire experience with constant spoilers. It completely killed the excitement of the game. Despite everyone complaining to the staff, they did nothing to fix the issue. Truly awful experience! Avoid this place at all...

I asked for a little birthday surprise for our hosts birthday dinner..... yes, but you need to buy it, was the answer. In other restaurants, they give at least a little surprise.

expensive for what you get. After dinner (rips and fries), you go hungry home!

130 kr for a cheesecake 👎

We would really like to drink more but the service was rarely present... the next bar we stopped was happy to serve drinks to us

I was freezing because the venue...

Fantastic steak sandwich and side salad for just 140kr. Very comfortable seating in booths. Been several times before. NOTE TO OWNER: Personnel is often nowhere to be seen, so you're losing a lot of sales, guaranteed. One guy was scouting today, and I've almost left before because nobody's at the bar. Have a beeper at least!

had a lovely dinner at Carls! The margarita pizza was delicious. What made it special for us was our server. We don’t know her name, but she was new at Carls and super friendly! Had a lovely talk about Oslo and really helped us with making choices and answering our questions. Would recommend.
