Egon — Restaurant in Tromsø

Egon: (Im comparing this from earlier experiences from this restaurant and other ive been to, I was here 2 years ago and gave 3 stars and most was because food not being presentable and medium heat, and the staff wasn't very polite)

We ordered via the QR code, and we got our drinks, normally you get served with a napkin for the drink since it got ice cubes, and as ridiculous as it sounds... you even get straws. Now you can go get them yourself right by the till so thats probably why they didnt add it by default.

Spicy bacon (pasta):

The pasta was perfectly cooked, the bacon was crispy but not like brunt, just perfect. The salad was fresh in taste, still got that fresh taste. The "spice" is definitely something a white person who thinks sweet and sour sauce is spicy. (Parmesan) also tastes very fresh. (other times its tasted like its been out and gotten nasty dry)

Don't be scared that they hold back on bacon because its more than enough.

Over all the meal was delicious and I very much recommend it if you like pasta with a kick.

The Bread was soft and very good as well.

I truly find no flaws in the meal, I will definitely buy this again!

While Egon is a restaurant concept (there are several "Egon" in Norway as a whole; two in Tromsø), I think this Egon in particular is especially nice. With the ambiance of a proper restaurant, paired with its practical location at Tromsø's biggest shopping center, this is the perfect place to enjoy a proper meal. It's also possible to have food from Egon delivered to your door (through the apps Volt or Foodora.)

Another thing that I quite enjoy about Egon are their portion sizes; not only the meals themselves, but the softdrinks, too! (but how about free refills for a set price? *inspired by Pizza Hut in Stockholm). Although located at a mall, I believe you can enjoy a beer at this place, too. 🍻

Food took a long time. Although I'd only ordered an omelette ordered & paid for it before my friend, mine never arrived, so I went looking for it. It was just sitting on the kitchen counter getting cold. Meanwhile my friend was half way through eating theirs. For an omelette with a couple of leaves and half a cherry tomato, it was very overpriced & not particularly nice either. The service wasn't hot either & neither was the friendliness either. Other customers left their tables before us and left a lot of waste food on their used plates. These weren't removed for 20 minutes meanwhile huge seagulls walked all over the tables filling up on all the left over food. When eventually staff removed the now empty plates, they never returned to clean the tables off so the next customers sat at a table that wild birds had walked all over. I wouldn't recommend eating here, especially outside even though its under cover, no large bird...
