Roberto's Muscat — Restaurant in Muscat

We've been frequently going to Roberto’s since its opening in Muscat, celebrating birthdays and special occasions. Its proximity to our home and beautiful interior design have made it a go-to choice for us. This past Saturday, we visited for brunch and were, as always, thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food. It truly was a delightful brunch menu. However, our recent visit highlighted a couple of areas where improvements would significantly enhance the overall experience: The service, while polite, was notably delayed. Our table of six arrived at 1 PM, and despite the restaurant having only three tables booked for the entire brunch period (1 PM - 4 PM), we were only offered water initially and then not approached again for drinks until 1:38 PM. Food service also experienced considerable delays. While the waiting staff were pleasant, the lack of attentiveness was quite noticeable to our entire party. The most significant detractor from our brunch was the DJ. The music volume was excessively loud, making conversation nearly impossible. When a friend politely requested to turn the volume down a bit, the DJ responded by stating it was "restaurant rules" for the volume to be loud and that he couldn't do anything. Upon the manager's arrival, the issue was addressed, and the DJ was asked to lower the volume. His subsequent reaction, reducing the volume to almost zero and sarcastically asking if that was "better," along with his rude body language, was highly unprofessional and off-putting making the atmosphere very unpleasant. Someone had to talk to him again to get a moderate, enjoyable volume, and he did it with the same bad attitude, eventually just walking away from the DJ booth. This is definitely something the restaurant needs to seriously consider. Having a DJ like that, especially during a daytime brunch when only a few tables booked are clearly struggling with the noise, really doesn't help attract or keep customers. We sincerely hope that such an experience with this particular DJ is not repeated, as it does not contribute positively to attracting or retaining clientele. Despite these points, we genuinely enjoy the restaurant and its menu. Faith, our server for the night, went above and beyond in every aspect of her role, turning what could have been an ordinary dinner into an extraordinary and unforgettable experience.

She took the time to ensure we were comfortable, introduced herself with genuine enthusiasm, and walked us through the menu with insight and thoughtful recommendations that matched our tastes perfectly. Whether it was suggesting the perfect wine pairing or explaining the subtle flavors in each dish, Faith’s knowledge and passion for hospitality were evident in every interaction.

Throughout the meal, she maintained the perfect balance of professionalism and warmth. She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, refilled our drinks at just the right moment, and checked in on us without ever being intrusive. Her timing was impeccable, her demeanor consistently gracious, and her dedication to making sure we had a seamless experience was truly impressive.

What truly set Faith apart was her ability to make us feel valued and at ease. She engaged with us in a way that was both personable and respectful, making our celebration feel even more special. It’s not every day you encounter someone who brings such a high level of care, attentiveness, and authenticity to their work.

By the end of the night, it was clear that Faith had not only provided exceptional service, but had played a significant role in creating a memory we’ll cherish for a long time. She is a true asset to the restaurant, and her commitment to excellence is something every guest should be lucky enough to experience.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Roberto’s last night, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had — truly a 12/10. From the moment we arrived until the very last bite, everything was impeccable.

The service exceeded all expectations — warm, attentive, and perfectly timed. The staff anticipated our needs before we even voiced them, creating an atmosphere that was both welcoming and refined. The manager and the young gentleman who served us were both exceptional — professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about delivering an outstanding experience.

As for the food, it was nothing short of extraordinary. The quality, presentation, and flavor were world-class. The highlight of the evening was the A5 Japanese Wagyu, which was incomparable to any I’ve had before — tender, buttery, and simply unforgettable.

The entire experience was so remarkable that I felt compelled to express my appreciation by sending over 1,200 OMR — a small gesture compared to the excellence we received.
