Chaayé Khana Bahria 4 — Restaurant in Chaklala Cantonment

This is a two-part review as I visited this place twice.

The first time we visited, was an early morning in which we ordered the halwa puri platter with some chai and apple juice. We also ordered a bun kebab, which, curiously, never arrived.

The puri was good and tasted well with the accompanied puri and channa. The chai was also fine, without being spectacular. The apple juice was fresh and did have a good taste.

The seating is comfortable and we were in a quiet area to enjoy our meal. Although, we did not receive the bun kebab, without any explanation, we thought we’d give the benefit of the doubt as the rest of the food was good that can be enjoyed eating comfortably.

We visited again after a couple of days and ordered some different items. Whilst inspecting the menu again we then saw why the bun kebab wasn’t provided on the previous occasion; it was only available after a certain time. This is fine of course, but it just seemed strange that the waiter even took the order but then did not bring it out and didn’t even provide a reason - quite bizarre.

Back to the second visit, we had some paratha, kashmiri chai, apple juice and another item, although this was not available and so we settled on some masala eggs, which the waiter noted down and repeated the order to us to confirm.

On this occasion, the items took a long time to come to the table. In fact, it took over half an hour. There was no explanation as to why there was such a delay.

The items eventually came, with exception to the masala eggs. We queried this but, to our shock, the waiter denied that we even made a request to replace the previously unavailable item. A really strange situation, especially since the waiter noted this down and even repeated the order to us.

As this was the second time with some negative customer service, it is clear there is something wrong at this place. At the first visit, no explanation as to why a particular item was not provided, despite noting it down and repeating the order to confirm. At the second visit, a refusal to admit that we ordered a particular item despite noting it down and repeating the order to confirm as well as the terrible delay to receiving the food.

Continuing with the second visit, it was difficult to enjoy the food in light of the major issues that occurred.

I sincerely hope that the customer service improves drastically and this can only be resolved by providing the proper training to the staff. This will improve the currently poor communication between staff and customer.

Chaye Khana is well renowned for it’s aesthetic ambiance and good breakfast. Generally I don’t like reviewing such places but since most of you asked for it so here it is. We ordered extensively since it was a celebration breakfast so What we ordered: Mushroom omelette (Rs. 350 for 2eggs) Cheese omelette (Rs. 370 2 eggs) ~ 1 Aaloo Paratha (Rs. 175) ~ 3 regular parathas (Rs. 75each) ~ Pan cakes (Rs. 285) ~ Waffles with icecream (Rs. 395) ~ 3 regular chaye (Rs. 140 each) ~ 1 mineral water large (Rs. 150) ~ Hashbrown, Meat slice and White bread slice were complementary 💕 Okay so a quick review, Mushroom omelette was good, i loved the flavour of mushroom in it but something was missing in it. I would have loved it if they had added parsley leaves and mushrooms over one half of the omelette and flipped the other half over it. But still it was good enough. Cheese omelette was no doubt the better of the two omelettes. Eggg have a special relevance in colder climate and if it's dish is prepared right it is some thing to savor the time and enjoyment that congress with it. And believe you me the omelette was exceptional when it comes to taste. Aaloo paratha was another good thing we enjoyed. A bit low on spices for me but @aesfoodthetic enjoyed it. Ahh pancakes !!! Well it was a bit disappointment just because there weren’t any toppings with it except mapple syrup. Well you’re charging 285 rupees and plain 2 pancakes. The numbers doesn’t add up yaar. I wish there were some fruits and whipped cream Ahh it would have been the best. UNDOUBTEDLY THE BEST DISH WE HAD FROM THIS PLACE. Everyone enjoyed it. The waffles were well prepared as to my likings. Not too soft neither crunchy. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The sheer variety of dishes on offer was staggering, with something to suit every taste and craving.

We began our meal with the Mint Margarita Soup and Hot & Sour Soup, both of which were delicious and set the tone for the rest of the meal. The Finger Fish, Mexican Wings, and Crispy Onion Rings were all crispy and flavorful, making for perfect appetizers.

For our main course, we opted for the CK Special Pizza, which was cooked to perfection and loaded with toppings. The Gol Gappy and Assorted Sandwiches were also impressive, with a delightful combination of flavors and textures.

But what truly stole the show was the array of salads on offer. From the Mint Noodle Salad to the Sweet Corn Salad, Russian Salad, and Kachumar Salad, each one was a masterclass in flavor and texture. The Chana Chaat and Dahi Bhaly were also delicious, with just the right amount of spice and tanginess.

No meal is complete without dessert, and this restaurant did not disappoint. The Chocolate Ball, Magical Lollipops, and Breadstick Chocolate Donuts were all decadent and delicious, while the Strawberry Donuts and Cream Puffs were sweet and indulgent.

Throughout our meal, the service was attentive and friendly, with the staff happy to answer questions and offer recommendations. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, with comfortable seating and modern decor.

In short, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves food. With its staggering variety of dishes, excellent service, and lively atmosphere, it's the perfect destination for a night out with friends or family.
