We hosted a dinner for around 25 people on a Saturday night. The place was full but the service did not leave anything lacking. We were attended to by the manager Mr Imtiaz who personally ensured everything was to our liking, and our server Mr Zaheer who was attentive, quick, accommodating and great at his job. The best part is that they knew the menu, guided us well and offered substitutions where we wanted. In my book that’s a big plus. We went for á la carte and for a group this size it was challenging but they managed my request of serving everyone together despite their varied choices which was such a relief because everyone was able to tuck into their dinner at the same time. We ordered the Karachi Chicken Karahi, Mutton Karahi, Makhni Handi, Seekh Kebabs, Bihari Boti for the older lot with a selection of tandoori rotis and nans that came piping hot. This was for those with a Desi taste bud who thoroughly enjoyed their meal. For the younger lot we had Tarragon steaks in both chicken and beef, Chinese items from their menu out of which the prawn fried rice was very good, Prawn Tempura, Korean Bites, Burger, Cheese Naan, Moroccan Chicken, Beijing Noodles, Maya’s Pasta, and Mac and Cheese which was loved by the kids. Everyone who ordered, loved their selections. The kids menu was a nice addition with the perfect quantity for kids, although I would suggest adding more options to it. I personally tried the beef steak which was done medium rare on my request (something not a lot of places know how to do right), Mr Imtiaz suggested I change my sauce to tarragon and it was the right decision. The quantity though could have been better for the main courses. Supplemental dishes would be required if you are a normal eater and skip starters. Otherwise starters are a must. The drinks were great. The lemon mint was especially good but I enjoyed their other selections as well. Would suggest adding more dessert options and tea/green tea that can help round off the Desi meal. As far as the ambience is concerned, it was the weekend and pretty loud, in partiality we contributed to the noise too so I would not suggest this as a place for a quiet meal. For a date night I was suggested to visit during the weekday which I will be doing soon InShaAllah! The interiors though are nice with warm lighting which I personally prefer! Would be looking forward to hosting and even visiting again! Keep up...
Read moreI went to Mizaaj for dinner, and overall, it was a pretty good experience.
The ambiance stood out as one of the best I’ve seen. The interiors are stunning, and the waiting area was decent too. That said, it did get a bit noisy because of the large and loud crowd, which was a little distracting.
Coming to the food, I really enjoyed most of the dishes. The Dynamite Prawns were a solid 9/10, full of flavor. The cheese naan was nice, but I felt they could’ve been a bit more generous with the cheese—8.5/10 for that. The Karachi Chicken Karahi was excellent, with a subtle frontier-style flavor, definitely a 9/10. The Chicken Tarragon Steak was great too, though I think they could serve a bit more sauce. Malai Boti was well-done and flavorful, maybe an 8.5/10. For drinks, both the Mint Margarita and Pina Colada were refreshing and spot on—9/10 for each.
The food was definitely above average overall, but there’s some room for improvement. The table for four felt a bit cramped; it was hard to fit everything comfortably. There was also an awkward moment when the floor manager and a waiter had a small argument over seating issues right in front of guests. That could’ve been handled better. It’d also be nice if they added an option for tipping through the card machine.
Service was another area that could use a little work. It felt slow and somewhat chaotic at times, which took away from the experience.
All in all, Mizaaj has a lot going for it, especially with its ambiance and food, but fixing these little things could make it an even...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience at Mizaaj Restaurant. We ordered their BBQ platter, which was absolutely unacceptable — it smelled rotten and tasted like old, spoiled kebabs and rice. When we complained, they offered another dish instead. Since we were already full, we requested it as a parcel.
While waiting, my elderly parents stayed seated at our reserved table. Shockingly, the supervisor and manager asked them to leave the hall and wait outside simply because the bill had already been paid and they wanted the table for new customers. Forcing senior citizens to stand outside while waiting for a parcel is extremely disrespectful and unethical.
Regarding the food:
Handi was okay but nothing special (you can get the same taste anywhere).
Alfredo pasta was tasty and enjoyable.
Karahi was also good. But none of this makes up for the awful BBQ platter or the appalling service.
The service overall was the worst I’ve experienced: no proper plates or cutlery, and we had to repeatedly ask for spoons. For 9 people, they only gave 5 spoons and acted like they were doing us a favor. The staff seemed disorganized, inattentive, and poorly trained.
Mizaaj advertises itself as “fine dining,” but the reality is overpriced food, poor management, and zero respect for customers. Even small roadside dhabas provide better hospitality. I strongly do NOT recommend this...
