A Love Story of 3 Generations. I am a big fan of Shezan Restaurant food but the love story begins with my father who was and is still a great admirer of delicious food at Shezan Restaurant. Now the third generation, my grown-up children are very found of having food at Shezan. My father, in his early civil service somewhere in 1955 was serving in Lahore and he got introduced to the prestigious Shezan Restaurant Branch at Mall Road Lahore. He admired the atmosphere and great food and became a regular visitor to the place. In my childhood, whenever we went for an outing, we always had food at Shezan. Later when I was in my teens and was having craze to try all types of food and different restaurants, I went out and tried so many other restaurants of Lahore but with time I rediscovered that still Shezan Restaurant Lahore is the one I love to visit again and again. I obviously introduced my next generation to Shezan Restaurant and they also love it. It needs a special mention that when my mother was alive, we always preferred to celebrate our parents wedding anniversary at Shezan. Now we all celebrate my father’s birthday at Shezan. The Restaurant has been recently renovated with even brighter decor and appears much spacious. The taste of food served here is no match. The restaurant serves all types of Pakistani, Chinese and continental cuisine, fast food, snacks, sandwiches and sweet options. Last night mashallah we, all the 3 generations together, went to have food at Shezan Restaurant and the experience was great as usual. We ordered Hot and sour soup, Chicken corn soup, Mint Margarita, Cheese Nan, Chicken Boti, Malai Boti, Sikanderi Kabab, Behari Boti, Chicken Karahi and Chicken Ginger. I would say that the combination of spices used at Shezan Restaurant is very balanced and on a milder side thereby permitting you to experience the actual taste of food. Probably this is the sole reason that the food is actually loved by all age groups. I can safely recommend you all to go and try the food with family members of...

As a foodie who lives for discovering dishes with character, I recently had the chance to try Mutton Karela at Shezan Restaurant in Lahore—and wow, what an experience. This isn’t your average run-of-the-mill curry. It’s bold, it’s unapologetic, and it celebrates flavors that are often overlooked.
At Shezan, the dish was executed beautifully. The mutton was melt-in-your-mouth tender, slow-cooked to perfection, and coated in a rich, spiced masala that clung to every bite. The karela was crisp around the edges, not overly bitter, and added a rustic, earthy dimension that balanced the meat’s richness like a well-choreographed dance of flavor.
You could tell it was made with care, the kind of recipe that’s been passed down generations. No shortcuts. Just real, traditional cooking that hits home.
I had it with fresh tandoori roti, and a chilled side of mint raita—the perfect way to temper the heat and bitterness. Every bite was a reminder that comfort food doesn’t have to be mellow or soft-spoken. Sometimes it’s the loud, layered, complex dishes that linger in memory.
Mutton Karela isn’t for everyone—but that’s what makes it special. It’s bold. It’s old-school. And it’s a dish that speaks to the soul of Pakistani comfort food. As a foodie, it reminds me that some of the most satisfying meals are the ones that aren’t afraid to be different.
Rating: 9/10 *Not your average curry—this one’s got an edge, history,...
Read moreNever in my life I've had such a bad experience at a restaurant. Even though we have been regular visitors but nothing like this had ever happened before. They served fish crackers with mulligatawny and tomato soup, as theybhasld run out of soup sticks and bread rolls. The n there was a big fat fly in one of our tomato soups, we complained, nothing happened! They were least perturbed! The waiters were too busy to wait on us, after numerous reminders they finally brought a glass that was missing and water. After ages they served our food and the servers had no idea what dish they were serving. There were six of us and I did not get served, apparently they had forgotten to put in my order! That was when I got up and had a talk with the managers, they had no idea about the fly and then said that they are very busy that's why all this is happening. Whoever is the owner or looks after this restaurant please have a look as it's really going down the drain! All this left a very bad taste in our mouth so we forgo the ice-cream, we couldn't take any more disappointment! Really heartbroken and...
