I am a regular at this restaurant, but have to say the staff, especially the desk manager, need some serious training in professionalism.
They display a lot of discrimination and rude behaviour towards women and girls who happen to visit on their own.
When I tried to give feedback to the restaurant staff, the manager was so loud and rude that I had to rush out of the restaurant and stand outside to clear my bill.
I was at the restaurant today at 12:00 pm and was probably their first customer. The entire restaurant was empty. I was on my own, needed to sort some e-mails, so sat in the corner table by the window where there are least disturbances. After I sat myself, the manager came to my desk to ask, ‘how many persons?’ I replied that it’s just me. To that he rudely said, ‘you can’t sit here. This and all the corner tables by the window are reserved.’
I sat there at the restaurant for an hour and the entire restaurant remained free, let alone the tables by the window. When I later asked the waiter why was I told the table was reserved, he said, ‘because I was just one person.’ So they basically lied to me that the table is reserved in the first instance. During the same time, a foreign guy sat, on a table with five chairs, outdoor. And the waiter did not say anything to him, or made him move.
First of all, if the restaurant wants to keep the seats by window for families only, they should clearly label them, or the manager should be on the door to guide the customers ‘politely,’ instead of waiting for the customer to sit themselves and then walking up to them rudely say, ‘they can’t sit here.’ No one is choosing to dine out to be told off.
Secondly, they should have tables for 1-2 people at the corner by the window because mostly people who are on their own are looking for quieter corners as opposed to family or group of friends.
Thirdly, the rule should apply to men, women, locals and foreigners alike. Lack of professionalism and customer services ruin the entire experience of dining out.
Last but not the least, I was served 10 minutes after the table outdoor, who actually arrived 15 minutes after me. This discrimination is mind-boggling.
I will never visit this...

I am writing this review with a heavy heart after witnessing something truly disturbing at Golden Dragon restaurant. While dining in their outdoor seating area, we saw a 12-year-old boy selling flowers who stepped into the dining area. What happened next was completely inexcusable.
A waiter dragged this child inside the restaurant and proceeded to slap him and kick him in the stomach. The poor boy was crying hard, and his flowers were scattered all over the floor. As customers, we were shocked and horrified by this violent treatment of a child.
When we confronted the staff about this unacceptable behavior, instead of taking responsibility or showing remorse, they made excuses trying to justify their waiter's actions. There is absolutely NO justification for physically assaulting a child, regardless of the circumstances.
This incident has left me feeling sick and deeply disappointed. No restaurant staff has the right to lay hands on anyone, especially a vulnerable child trying to make a living. The management's response was equally disappointing - showing no accountability for their employee's violent behavior.
I strongly urge the management to: Take immediate disciplinary action against the waiter involved Implement proper training on how to handle such situations humanely Issue a public apology for this incident
Until this restaurant takes serious action to address this behavior and ensure it never happens again, I cannot and will not recommend Golden Dragon to anyone. The food is irrelevant when basic human decency is absent.
This review is based on an actual incident witnessed on Wednesday 23rd July 2025. Violence against children is...
Read moreThe place has good ambiance.
Among the several dishes I tried I liked Large Fried Tail Prawns and Honey Dried Beef best. Prawns were fried to perfection with right amount of crisp and crunch. Honey dried beef had perfect blend of sweetness and chillies.
The namesake Golden Dragon Special Soup was actually a let down. The taste was pretty bland, although wontons in it were ok. Prawns with Button Mushroom and Vegetables looked absolutely horrendous I couldn't get myself to try that but my cousin said that it was delicious. (I don't know if he was tricking me into trying that)
Although I enjoyed my Lemon Mint Margarita much.
Chicken chowmein, Fried rice, Chicken Chillies with Vegetables were alright.
We enjoyed the food and the evening so much we didn't get chance to take many pictures, here are a couple albeit not good ones. Sorry for the hasty bad...
