Stepping into Lanzhou in F‑7 Markaz might not dazzle you with fancy decor—but what matters is the magic that happens in that open kitchen. Watching fresh noodles being hand‑pulled right in front of you gives you a taste of authenticity before your first bite arrives .
The beef noodle soup here is a revelation. The broth is deeply aromatic—slow‑simmered with spices, light yet richly flavored, and ideal for rainy or cool evenings. The noodles are thin, chewy, bouncy, and satisfyingly slurpable. Despite modest slices of beef, the essence of their flavor is woven into every strand of noodle. As one reviewer put it: “The food at Lan Zhao is light‑years ahead … the noodles were thin, yet chewy. The broth was flavourful…” . Other diners on Reddit concur: Lanzhou F‑7 “had the bestestttttt” beef noodle soup in town .
Equally impressive are their Mamtu dumplings. These bite‑sized parcels come wrapped in a delicate, thin dough, steamed to a soft yielding texture. Inside: juicy, flavorful beef filling seasoned just right—a balance of savory depth without unnecessary heaviness. They’re not over‑spiced, making them approachable even for more sensitive palates. Redditors say: “Their dumplings are nice tho!” and recommend trying Lanzhou for both beef noodles and dumplings .
What truly gives Lanzhou its edge is the authenticity. Unlike the overly sweet or heavy Pakistani‑style Chinese dishes, this place serves the real deal. Connoisseurs love it for that reason—even when service is hit or miss. One Reddit user admitted: “service sucks but I go there for the authentic flavoured food” . And despite minimal beef portions, many agree it doesn’t matter—the broth carries the weight of flavor beautifully .
In summary, Lanzhou in F‑7 offers an unmatched experience for lovers of beef noodle soup and Mamtu dumplings: • Broth: aromatic, spicy (adjustable at table), and rich in depth • Noodles: handmade, springy, and light • Beef: subtle in quantity but integrated into the broth’s soul • Dumplings (Mamtu): delicate wrappers, savory beef filling, perfectly portioned for sharing
Ambience may be humble and seating compact, and at times service inattentive. But if you crave real Chinese flavors in Islamabad—this is definitely the place. Highly recommended for an authentic, flavour‑packed meal that leaves a...

When a restaurant is careless about food safety and the local staff dismisses it as a non-issue, some reflection is necessary. Thankfully, platforms like Google allow us to share our feedback.
When I bit into the chicken, I immediately realized it wasn’t fully cooked. The same issue occurred with the second wing. I brought this to the attention of the waiter, who merely smiled and said, "We’ll do better next time." Seriously? It seemed to me that they were taking advantage of the fact that the owners, who likely don’t speak English, are unaware of how the staff is misrepresenting them. The waiter’s dismissive attitude and personal comments felt as if he thought he owned the place.
I understand that mistakes can happen in any restaurant. However, how those mistakes are handled makes all the difference. In this case, the staff’s response showed no regard for customer satisfaction or the restaurant’s reputation. Businesses thrive because of their customers, not despite them.
If I ever crave Chinese food again, this place will not be my choice—unless the staff undergoes a serious...

Food Quality:
We have been regulars here since it opened years back and the quality of the food has stayed consistently good.
Ambiance & Cleanliness:
The decor and ambience used to be pretty basic when they started ( to be honest most noodles shops in china follow a similar plain decor) but recently they have renovated the interior and looks better now.
Service: Staff is friendly , some of them speak both urdu and chinese which is quite useful and food is usually served within 15mins which is decently quick.
Value for Money: Depends on how much you order since most dishes can easily be shared and usually our bill of two people is within 3-5k PKR
