Hereâs a 200-word review for an Afghan restaurant:
I recently dined at an Afghan restaurant, and it was a truly memorable experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with traditional Afghan decor that created an authentic and cosy atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and attentive, making sure we felt comfortable throughout our meal.
The menu offered a variety of Afghan dishes, each showcasing the rich flavours and spices of the region. I started with the mantu, Afghan dumplings filled with seasoned ground meat and topped with a savoury yoghurt sauce. The balance of flavours was delightful, with a perfect blend of spices and a hint of tanginess from the yoghurt.
For the main course, I ordered the lamb kebabs, which were tender, juicy, and grilled to perfection. The kebabs were served with fragrant basmati rice and a side of fresh, crisp salad. The rice was infused with aromatic spices, making each bite full of flavour. I also appreciated the freshly baked naan, which was warm and soft, perfect for dipping into the accompanying sauces.
The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. Overall, this Afghan restaurant offers an authentic and satisfying dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore Afghan cuisine.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Janaan Restaurant, an Afghan gem located in F-10, Islamabad. The experience was truly delightful, especially when it came to their culinary offerings.
Janaanâs specialties are "Rosh," BBQ, and Afghan Tikka, each dish showcasing authentic Afghan flavors. The "Rosh" was particularly outstanding, with tender meat and a rich, savory broth that left a lasting impression. Their Kabuli Pulao was also amazing, perfectly cooked with fragrant rice, succulent meat, and a delightful mix of raisins and carrots.
While the food was top-notch, there are areas that could benefit from improvement. The service, although friendly, could be a bit more efficient to enhance the overall dining experience. Similarly, the ambiance could use some enhancements to match the excellence of the food.
One notable inconvenience is the access to the upper hall, which is only reachable by stairs. This lack of a lift can make it difficult for elderly patrons or those with mobility issues to enjoy dining in the upper section.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Janaan Restaurant. The food, especially the "Rosh," was exceptional and worth every visit. With a few improvements in service and ambiance, Janaan could become an even more remarkable dining...
Read moreWe had such a disappointing experience dining in Janaan restaurant tonight. The food was served after a long wait of one hour and to our utter dismay, both plates of pulao we received were marred by the presence of unsanitary hair. Not only did this gross oversight compromise our dining experience, but it also raised serious hygiene concerns. When we brought the issue of contaminated pulao to their attention, the restaurant staff replaced it with another plate containing the same hair. Shockingly, upon our return of the second plate, they failed to provide a new one, yet had the audacity to include it in our bill. Furthermore, we discovered that we were served a lesser quantity of tikka than we had ordered, despite being charged the full amount. This not only reflects a lack of integrity but also an attempt to overcharge customers. Regrettably, the staff's rudeness towards us exacerbated an already disappointing dining experience. Respectful and courteous customer service is a basic expectation. I have no intention of returning to Janaan restaurant. I also cannot, in good conscience, recommend this establishment when there are notably superior Afghan restaurants in Islamabad that prioritize customer satisfaction and adhere to basic...
