The food was outstanding. The drinks were pretty good. The umbrellas and chairs were a bit pricey. $25 for umbrella and a lounge chair. For another lounge chair, it was an extra $5. For a larger umbrella, it was an extra $5, so we skipped that as $35 total was lackluster. Seems a bit silly and desperate. They have picnic tables under tiki huts that were $30 and didn't look very comfortable. Our server was nice and attentive. Beware if you go swimming there in April. We found out the hard way about the little clear jellyfish. I got stung pretty good, then watched a lady get hit pretty hard by one swimming with her family. It looked more agonizing than mine as she was upset and dragged herself out of the water holding her leg. We didn't receive a warning, which I found interesting. We got out and waited a couple of hours, and I got stung a couple more times on my next venture out to swim again. The first one was the worst. The next couple of times, I just dealt with it. Kinda felt like a bee sting and didn't leave a bad mark or anything. The area was clean, which was nice, and they played good music while we were there. The bathrooms were also clean, and the showers worked well. We dealt with a bit of traffic behind us with people honking for no reason. Trash was nearby for easy access. Drove 4 hours to get there on Holy week Thursday morning from Panama City. Would probably go again sometime, but come prepared with our own umbrella and beach chairs and head further down the beach away from the rocks. Also, be aware that the rocks are perilous for the clumsy or disabled if you are trying to get to the water. It's not easy access at all. We took our time crawling down the rocks as the stairs ended, and it was a steep slope down. I'd go back for the food alone, but likely not their portion of the beach. It levels out and is much nicer further down the beach, but they have it fenced off, so you have to take the treacherous rocky descent to get there as well. They had a $30 seafood platter that was muy bueno. Id probably only recommend this place to...
Read moreWe've just spent half a day at El Farallon beach where Pipa's Beach Restaurant is located. We came here twice in the past few days. Very nice and cozy place right on the beach. If you come by car and eat at the restaurant you don't need to pay for parking, otherwise it's $5. If you want to rent a Cabaña (beach hut) it's $30 for the whole day and you are allowed to bring 1 cooler with your own drinks, but not food, or you can choose a small table with umbrella, arm chair and a lounge chair for $20/whole day. We were here during the week Tuesday/Wednesday and it was never too noisy or crowded, busy but not too crazy. The food is amazing especially Pescado Frito (fried fish) and Pulpo a la vinagreta (octopus in wine vinegrette). Also, we highly recommend to try red sangria, very refreshing and delicious! The beach is clean and the sand is a mix of white and black which is a common thing in Panama when it comes to beaches. Overall an amazing experience! Cheche - one of the co-owners was super helpful and spoke amazing English. It was nice to chat with him, very friendly and...
Read moreWe had a reservation for one table. By arrival they gave us a brocken table in the corner like we would not notice it. We asked to change the place but it gave me from the start a bad impression that workers there don´t care. The second negative thing was ordering the food. They forgot to bring the half of our order and we had to wait an additional hour till it gets ready. And the food itself .. I received the worst cheeseburger I´ve ever tried for 8 dollars with melted cheese inside of the cheapest bread with no onion, no pickle and no tomato. This place is not worth the money and the ride, we could just get to the beach for free right next to the place and avoid such a...
