McDonald's — Restaurant in Panamá Oeste

To be honest, the food was as expected from McDonald's, but oh my god, this was the funniest experience I may ever have had at a fast food restaurant.

My friend and I were ordering regular menu items as written in the drive thru, with very little knowledge of Spanish and the result was receiving one of three items that we ordered and a request for change of all types. This became really funny very quickly as we proceeded to find the change, pay for what we thought was the full order, and received only one item. We then ordered the other items one at a time and the restaurant employees easily managed to make change for us for these items.

I feel as though we ended up either paying too little or too much (still have no idea) but at the very least we had the entire McDonald's staff laughing as hard as we were. Overall frustrating but amazing experience largely due to our lack of command over the Spanish language, but a memory I will carry with me for a long time.

I don’t know what we did to make the staff so rude and horrible to us tonight. They didn’t say hello or goodbye when we said it and stared at us the entire time we were waiting for our food. We are travelling and have been working for years and years to afford to come away to visit Panama. The attitude of the people here make us feel unwelcome. In our culture in Australia we would never be rude to people ever for any reason, especially if they were just ordering fast food. I actually worked at McDonalds in Australia and I would never treat people this way for no reason. We feel sad and hurt that something as simple as getting McDonald’s makes us feel alienated and ashamed that we ever thought we should travel Panama. Playa Coronado McDonald's is probably the worst managed franchise in the world. I ordered the simplest meal, the two cheeseburger special and was shocked, when biting into the first one, that there was no burger in it! Nor was there a burger in the other.
