My name is Andrew Koly. I had my right arm amputated some years ago and I’m currently traveling from Denver Colorado to Minneapolis. Minniapolis seems like they found Boba and this city went all in and there is a lot of Boba in the city but, this particular store and this particular Boba is the top of the top. The cream of the cream as good as it gets. As a disabled man, I order DoorDash a lot, and I was blown away the first time I tasted their Drink drinks. It’s a specialty drink with mango popping Boba and it was life-changing. It also had strawberry and pineapple in it and I could tell if these were frozen fruit that they cut up and put in the drink. It was amazing.
If you get a chance to go there, my server’s name was Sunny. I told her about my experiences that was having drinking her Boba and she insisted on me to try other things. Her Deep understanding of the menu, her passion for creating works of art and calling them drinks and her empathy and the question she asked me to find out what I liked brought me to tasting flavors. I could not imagine. I’m so grateful when a company hires. Good customer service when they get a good person who really cares.
Please, if you are management with this company, you need to promote Sunny as soon as possible. She needs to be training everybody on how to talk to the customers. She really needs her own store because this lady made me feel so good. I’m ready to move to Minneapolis over my experience at a boba drink place!!!!!
I can’t stress this enough, you took an out of place disabled man, five days before his birthday. He was having a really bad time because recent loss he’s experienced and you made him forget that he Is missing his right arm and his family members. He brought him a place of love and happiness and peace and it’s all thanks to your drinks and a lady named Sonny answering the phone and directing me to peace...
Read moreBeing a Penang Nyonya lady, living here in North America for almost 25 years, I would say the nyonya laksa and bubur hitam took me back to where I was born and grew up. It is not really authentic and some of it is due to the ingredients or lack thereof, I know i have tried to recreate several dishes in my own kitchen and somehow they don't come out tasting quite the same.
Having said that, I would like to clarify some things, the Nyonya Laksa is more like Curry Mee (Curry Noodles). Nyonya Laksa is similar to Assam Laksa being they are both fish based curries. One being flavored by Tamarind hence being Assam, and the other Santan (Coconut Milk), which gives it a creamy taste and texture. Laksa also is served with either thin or thick rice noodles, not yellow noodles as Curry Mee would.
As for the Bubur Hitam, it is usually served with a dollop of thick Santan or Coconut Milk Sauce. It is evident there is either very little to no Santan in the Bubur. Also, Bubur Hitam is boiled with Pandan leaves which gives it a fragrant note, which is absent from your Bubur.
I understand these ingredients are not too easy to come by sometimes, and they don't always flavourful the food the same way as homegrown ingredients do somehow, and I also have to admit to the having to cater to the taste of your patrons. So overall, I would like to congratulate you on a job well done in trying to marry both worlds and introduce this often forgotten cuisine from the east. GOOD JOB! As a true Nyonya though, I cannot give you a five star rating.
By the way, although I would recommend both the Nyonya Laksa and the Bubur Hitam, I would not recommend your Taro Smoothie, which i find to be very powdery and you don't really taste the Taro which has been overpowered...
Read moreThis past weekend we had the pleasure of dining at Peninsula Malaysian Cuisine thanks to a Groupon that I had recently purchased, and we had an awesome experience! If my husband and I could give the restaurant higher than 5 stars, we would! From the ambiance of the restaurant to the awesome server (Tony), to the delicious and authentic food, we were not disappointed in any way. We ordered the Satay Tofu as appetizer (fried tofu filled with vegetables and an amazing peanut sauce!), main dishes (my husband ordered the Hainan Chicken, fried and I ordered the Vegetables in Green Curry Sauce--both dishes were recommended by the server and they were delicious!), and were treated to a complimentary dessert of coconut pudding provided to us by our kind server, which was also delicious! We were thrilled with the experience we has at this establishment, and were sure to let the manager, Calvin, know of the excellent service and food that we had gotten, which prompted him to give us coupons for the next time that we come in... We will definitely be there again and will continue to recommend Peninsula Malaysian Cuisine to friends who wand to have a great dining experience! From walking in to this place off the street without ever having heard of it before, we feel like excellent service should be rewarded, and feel that the service of Tony (and Calvin) should be recognized--these are two individuals who are valuable assets to your establishment! Thanks for a wonderful evening with delicious food and an amazing dining...
