Late November, 2021 - Everything is 4% more expensive than their menu, regardless of how you can pay, in cash, or a card. This is a chill spot with a relaxing atmosphere and lighting. We enjoyed drinks, a jazz concert, and dinner. The cauliflower was excellent, and savory. The shrimp and grits were well-prepared, but seemed like a small ‘tasting’ portion. The Brussels sprouts were very good. I would consider returning. I am rating three (3) stars instead of four (4) stars because, despite a sign on their door indicating a discount for payment in cash, the host/hostess advised they don’t accept cash, and wouldn’t accept payment of the concert admission in cash. Maybe, because of the pandemic, or sanitation issues? Ok, I get that. But read on: despite these statements, when it came time to pay the check, Icehouse charged a 4% credit card processing fee. 😏 If they do claim to accept cash for payment of a dining check or bar tab, neither the server, nor anyone else there mentioned that to me. I would have happily paid cash if that was the case. Or I could pay with Venmo, or PayPal, or BTC. So, if this policy is due to the pandemic, then what is the point of continuing to display the “PAY WITH CASH & SAVE!” sign on the window in November, 2021, 23 months into the pandemic. 🤷♂️

Made reservations for 15 on 7/31/21 to see an outdoor concert. Was told we would be on the patio split into two tables of 6 and one of 4. We paid for tickets in advance ($22/ea after tax), but when we arrived they had four tables of 4 INSIDE the restaurant - for an outdoor concert! When we said we did not want to sit inside, we were told to find seating on the rocks. We pulled up tables in a gravel area, behind a large statue (so we couldn't even see the band) that belonged to a neighboring business. We ordered over $100 in apps from the bar, then the host came out and told us we needed to be quiet - we were just conversating (with the exception of a WooHoo! when the singer gave a shout out to the bride-to-be, who he personally knows and will be performing at her wedding in a few weeks!) We quieted down, waited for our food - but then was told we needed to go inside to eat our food! The host literally came out and said we have tables for you inside where your food will be - AGAIN, NO - we paid to see the concert! We had the food boxed up left - complete waste of money. ***The performers were GREAT! This is in no means a reflection of their music or performances.

Brunch here goes above and beyond. Service is detail-oriented, food is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is lively due to the live music. This was the best part: we could enjoy someone sharing their talent while still having a conversation, and neither or voices nor the music overpowered each other. Sound was spot on. I ordered the Duck Brioche, and oh my - was this the right choice! You get a duck leg alongside a sunny egg perched on top of a thick piece of brioche stuffed with foie gras and peppers. It is perfect. Savory, not too filling, and a variety of flavor. I ordered a mocha which was tasty, and also a piece of cornbread to share with my mom and brother - forsure get the cornbread! I also ordered a side of fries because I was honestly hungover and starving and needed a good amount of starch to soak up the last night. They were good (esp. with the garlic aioli and spicy ketchup). Can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu!

The Bloody Mary was amazing, one of the best I’ve ever had! Sadly the service and food were not anywhere near the quality of the bloody. First it took a decently long time after being sat before a waiter came to our table. He was nice, just not the most attentive especially for the tail end of brunch when it was not busy. We ended up having an additional waitress also helping us out and she was great. The food was also disappointing. Ordered a burger with “some pink” but it came out well done and very dry. The shashuka had a ton of olives in it which isn’t typical for shashuka nor was it listed on the menu. They asked how they could make things right (which was nice) and they offered some extra eggs and bread but still charged us for the extras (which was weird, but also not expensive so it was fine). Overall I would come here for drinks and music but probably not for the service nor food.

This is a quaint little venue with a very lively atmosphere! My date and I went on what I believe was Salsa night. The live band was amazing; and it was so fun to people watch! We sat on the upper level, overlooking the dance floor. I ordered the King crab, and the bread assortment with Honey butter. The food was really good, but as soon as I got my plate they cut the lights. I didn't wanna be that person with the flash on, so I was kinda digging in the dark. My date also ordered something with duck fat and cheese (guessing) that was REALLY tasty. For drinks, I ordered an Irish Mule that was okay in taste, but not very strong. My favorite was a drink I shared with my date called The Little Richard. It's epic!! I have and will continue to recommend people to dine here. My only tip is to sit lower/closer to the stage if you want better lighting.

So I regretfully did not get to see a show during my short meal here, so this review will focus on the food and drinks offered during happy hour, both of which were phenomenal! I tried the pastrami egg sandwich with a side of fries and a hard cider, all of which was delicious and fairly large portion considering the price. I found the house made ketchup a really nice touch that complimented the French fries perfectly. The stools at the bar are positioned well for watching the stage and it does seem that they have regular shows which could prove interesting for a night out on the town, whether it’s pre post or during dinner! Overall I really enjoyed my time at the Icehouse and would recommend people check it out, though it seems parking can be a bit hard to manage, so be prepared to walk a little!
