I am still searching for a word to describe how I’m feeling about these donuts. It was a feeling I had once before many years ago when I was traveling in Japan and I was duped into eating a surprise curry doughnut. Upon first glance, the donut looked delicious and American. Fried dough; a plain but lovely experience. I was so excited to have something to remind me of Home. As I bit into it a volcano of spicy hot curry ejected itself into my mouth. The feelings that I had then of disappointment, deep regret, resentment, anger, sadness, and disillusionment are the same that I have now for this glam doll doughnut facility if you can call it that. There are many that will read this and think it is foolish to have such feelings towards a donut and I say to them follow my guide and you will see for yourself. All you need to know about this place, as there are many reviews already talking about how plain and boring, and muted the flavors are, is To go try the espresso crueler also known as the flirty Frenchy. To me this donut is on paper not a bad idea however, the execution left me with the same feeling I felt many years ago that I have trouble describing now. my life is now changed for the worse because of this donut I will I will never forget my experience here today and I will think about it going forward for the next few weeks longing for the time before I tasted this Abomination. Don’t believe me? Go try one right now. if you are from Minnesota or visiting there’s a very good chance that you have been to Matt’s bar and got a juicy Lucy. Now stay with me and I promise you once you eat it you will agree. Perhaps you may have also had a French onion dip with some ridged chips in the past. Now that you have the filthy Frenchie from glam dolls I want you to take a bite and think about the way Matt bar smells and how French onion dip tastes. Actually just fried onions in general would probably do the trick, but I say Matt bar because there is a very specific flavor that that grill seasoned grill gives off that people who frequent there will know if you make your own on your flat top grill perhaps you also have that same flavor and are familiar with it. Now that you have the donut in your mouth and have realized I am right. You too now know the way I am feeling congratulations. Thank you, glam doll donuts for managing to trick this old donut eater one last time. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, I will never be a patron of this restaurant ever again and have a new life goal, which is to tell everyone that I meet and everyone on the Internet what glam doll has done here. Urging them to realize the impact of the creation that should have never been and the mark it has left on the donut...
Read moreI ordered a dozen donuts for delivery and got 16 for the same price ($47.22 minus a $9.45 delivery tip because I always tip at least 25%), plus I got free delivery as a new customer, and I even got a handwritten note inside my box. "This is the best service ever," I thought to myself. Until I read the note...and realized that, despite ordering 12 different donuts, somehow I didn't get a single item I purchased. 16 donuts that I don't want is not a good deal, especially when they taste like cardboard; even the frosting wasn't very good... and I just recently got off Keto, so I would die for some sugar right now. In essence, they foisted a bunch of day-old or unpopular donuts on me because I wasn't in the store, and they probably laughed the entire time they did so.
I even selected "contact me if an item is unavailable" when I purchased through DoorDash. You'd think that ALL of my items being unavailable might qualify, but go figure... Now, I'm not entirely sure about all of DoorDash's mechanics, so it is possible Glam Doll Donuts never saw that request. However, the note they left inside my box, about not having my chosen items, seems to suggest they did. I did get my donuts in good shape in 15 minutes--the ETA was 30 to 40 minutes--so I was definitely pleased with the delivery, just nothing else.
All in all, it was definitely a waste of $40. I was very unpleased with the service and the quality of the donuts. I could have gotten better, in both regards, from a chain store like Dunkin' Donuts, and for one-fourth the price; I just got cake and raised donuts anyway, so a chain store would have even had better variety. I would absolutely never eat Glam Doll Donuts again. Well, I guess maybe I would if a Zombie-themed apocalypse became a reality, and there was no other food within miles. I will admit that a few of the frosting designs were interesting but if I wanted to buy art, I would buy a painting, or a sculpture, or a photograph, or even a really old, silly, propaganda poster,...
Read moreThe donuts here taste pretty good, probably a 4/5. Not the best we've had, but some unique concepts and flavors. However, our experience wasn't great.
We placed an online order and came to pick it up, but it was not on their pickup table. The table is on the outside of the counter area (customer accessible), so anyone could just walk in and grab someone else's order and some grabbed ours before we got there. The guy behind the counter did apologize and pick our order right away, but of course, they were out of one of the donuts that were in our order. He did inform us and asked it it was ok to grab a substitute and even gave us an extra one, which was great. It wasn't until we got home and compared it to our order that we discovered two donuts had been replaced instead of just the one he informed us about. It was quite a shame as the donuts on our order were vegan (for my gf) and the substitutes were not and the reason we wanted to try it was because they had vegan options.
We don't live in the area so definitely won't be making a trip back here. I appreciate the effort in substitution, but would have been better to get what we actually ordered. Even gave a pretty good tip with the order (upfront) as well. Advice for the business: don't have public access to paid orders. It may be a tad bit more work for your team, but would help ensure that orders...
