We came here on a Sunday to try the traditional Adobo dish (a type of pork stew/soup traditionally eaten at breakfast on Sundays) and it was tasty (medio portion was not too big for 1 although we shared it). We also ordered a recoto relleno (stuffed pepper) which was also nice - the pepper is hotter than you might expect! The waitress made a real effort to explain the dishes to us which I appreciated and also explained people follow Adobo with a hot tea and a shot of anis - so we had that too. It was busy with lots of local families having lunch together and there was also a live singer. Overall tasty food, good atmosphere. We enjoyed it a lot - good value too.

Adobos Elsita is an absolutely lovely lunch spot, and was a perfect choice for trying our first Adobos! The broth was so so tasty (there was so much flavour in there, you could tell it had been cooking for a few hours), and the pork was soft and delicious. The soup was served with fresh bread (perfect for soaking up the juices), and we left feeling very happy and satisfied. A medium sized Adobo cost 20 soles, which was such good value, and our waitress was absolutely lovely as well, explaining the history and tradition of the dish as well as how to eat it. Would 100% recommend!

I ate the adobo mediano and it's got a rich, flavorful, broth with a nice spicy rocoto on top of the pork shoulder. It's served with two pieces of tres puntas bread. I recommend trying Adobos Elsita for the adobo 🍲🐷

Woke up super early to try their adobo, turns out it was not necessary as they will have adobo until at least the early afternoon (altho they may run out of bread by then so…BYOB?). The granddaughter of Elsita speaks English and is very helpful and friendly if you need some help with ordering.

Delicious tasting adobo, I can’t be a legit judge tho bc this is my first and only Arequipan adobo (excluding the one at our hotel which tasted surprisingly great but it was more Asian-tasting, like the Filipino adobo. This adobo had a more tomato base and could be made extremely spicy with the addition of the pepper provided,...

For my first adobo experience, I got the best! My husband and I sought out this place in Cayma. Cute house with friendly folk right on the plaza. This family run place is obviously a favorite. A young woman who introduced herself as the owner's daughter (I'm sorry I didn't write down her name), gave us a full orientation on what to order and schooled us on Chicha and beer mixing on the house. To top it all off, it was a religious holiday so we were ringside for the parade and celebration coming from the church next door. It was quite an authentic experience all around. Worth the...
