Warnung!

Warning! The viewpoint is nice, but I deliberately only give it one star so that hopefully many people read this warning: The path to the viewpoint is NOT safe! On the way there on April 29, 24, 3 people tried to rob me. I turned left from Calle Alfonso Ugarte into Cta. del Angel. So it was only a few steps to the Mirador. There were 3 people walking in the street: an older couple (mid-70s) who were walking uphill towards Mirador. And a man (about 50) who came from above. I overtook the very slow couple and the other man and I passed each other shortly after. Suddenly I felt something on my arm. I looked and there was green, thick liquid on my arm. The man who had come towards me before had turned to me and was pointing towards the sky. Officially a bird had pooped on me. The older couple then caught up with us. She looked horrified and shouted “es mucho”. I noticed that my entire backside was full of the green stuff. He immediately dug a roll of toilet paper out of his pocket, came up to me and started wiping my arm. Subconsciously I apparently noticed that something wasn't right because I immediately took 5 steps away. He then waved at me to come to him at the wall of the house, away from the "dangerous" street - on which there wasn't a car in sight. At the same time, a mustard-like smell hit my nose. Then a taxi arrived, stopped briefly, but then continued on. I slowly walked towards Mirador, politely declined further help and the three of them went away in the other direction. The older couple did NOT continue in the original direction. When I cleaned up the "bird poop" at the Mirador, the taxi driver drove past me again and warned me about the 3 fraudsters. Please be careful, don't...

The Mirador de Yanahuara, is a must-visit spot in the charming district of Yanahuara, Arequipa. This site is not just an overlook but also a beautiful plaza that offers stunning views of the city and its surrounding volcanoes.

Whether visited during the day or at night, the overlook provides breathtaking panoramic views of Arequipa. The sight of the city against the backdrop of its majestic volcanoes is a highlight that leaves visitors in awe.

The plaza itself is one of the most beautiful in Arequipa, and perhaps one of the best I’ve encountered. The area around the overlook is perfect for a leisurely stroll, offering a safe and serene environment where you can fully immerse yourself in the local atmosphere.

There are excellent dining options nearby, making it convenient to enjoy a meal while taking in the views. The entire district of Yanahuara is a pleasure to explore, with its picturesque streets and welcoming ambiance.

For anyone looking to experience Arequipa at its best, a visit to the Yanahuara Scenic Overlook is essential. Yanahuara is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful districts in the city, and this overlook is its...
