I found about about Homestay Diaz Cuba from the Spanish school I was studying at in Arequipa. I was travelling alone and it was my first solo trip (8 months). Understandably, I was quite nervous and so the fact that I was staying with the family for the first month of my trip really put me at east. Standing at the doorstep, waiting for the family to come downstairs and let me in, I was so scared. The door opened and I was met with hugs, smiles and excitement and this is how my stay continued! Pao and Tom are two of the most caring people I have ever met. Nothing is too much trouble and they honestly care for you as if you were their child! We had family film nights, guided tours around the city, family meals every night, extended family visiting. There was never a dull moment. From the guest floor, you have access to the most amazing roof terrace where you can get an unspoilt view of El Misti. The house is in a lovely and safe neighbourhood and with your own key, you are free to come and go as you please. Sebas and Nico are two of the most loving and beautiful people in the world. The whole family will make your stay worthwhile and a time to remember. They really are beautiful people. PS: the house is beautiful and fantastic as well and the rooms are so clean, tidy and of a...
Read moreWe have been travelling several months in South America as part of our sabbatical year and our stay with Tom & Pao’s family was our top favorite!||From the moment of entering the door you become part of their caring, funny and good humored family. We stayed four weeks as part of a Spanish course and came back later in our trip for another two weeks, as we missed it so much. Two comfortable rooms with a shared bathroom are set on the top floor, where you will also find a nice terrace with spectacular views on the surrounding volcanoes. Downstairs is the cozy living and eating area where we spent many precious moments, cooking, playing games, singing, dancing and learning so much about Peruvian life and food.||The house is located in the beautiful district Cayma, close to Plaza Cayma, safe and quiet and walkable to the...
Read moreI travel the world and I love homestays. I was in Arecuipa for 10 weeks learning Spanish and found this perfect little cozy house. The family welcomed me with open arms and much more. The family consisted of mom, dad and 2 sons ( 24 years old and 11 years old). They provided me with a perfect little room and my own bathroom. It was near town so I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. They were so excited to have me and did everything they could to make me feel like one of the family members. If I wanted to join in the festivities I could or if i wanted to relax alone I easily could as well. They speak both Spanish and English but mostly tried to speak Spanish just so I could learn. I felt at home when I was there and never felt lonely. I highly, highly recommend stating with this prefect...
