Don Katsu — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

A peruvian-japanese fusion restaurant. The food is a mix between peruvian and japanese style. Can't say it's really authentic to Japanese style. The price is nevertheless decent and quite cheap, compared to other japanese restaurants.

To me, The tonkatsu that they served feels like they mistakenly thought it was just like schnitzel/milanesa, but with panko. It is super thin and doesn't have a lot of meat.

The salads that goes with the tonkatsu uses way too much carrots, and uses the peruvian style salad dressing instead the local japanese sauce made with soy sauce, mirin, and sugar; nor uses sesame sauce.

The soup that they served lacks a lot of flavors typically found in an authentic japanese restaurant, such as mirin and dashi broth.

The sushi as expected, uses way too many sauces instead of purely fish. Nevertheless in Peru I heard that this type of fusion sushi is known as "maki"...

Hace 15 años vengo a este restaurante. Uno de los mejores en comida japonesa.

Lamentablemente en la última visita llegamos con mi esposa y mi hijo a las dos de la tarde, y el personal de seguridad nos dijo de muy mala manera que estaba lleno. Yo he venido antes estando lleno y se nos señaló que esperáramos y no hubo problema. Pero hoy el trato del personal de seguridad fue pésimo. Como estaba con mi esposa e hijo de idimos esperar. Felizmente el personal de mozos y caja fue bastante amable y nos tomó el pedido mientras esperamos se desocupe una mesa.

I came yo this restaurant since 15 years ago, one of the best in nikkei japanese food. Sadly today the person at the dolor told us in bad manners that the restaurant was full. I've came before &the tables were all occupied but were told gently to wait until a table get free. Not this time. Nos invito a comer mi hijo a este restaurante..y llegamos con grandes expectativas debido a que me recomendaron mucho este lugar, al entrar el ambiente no me llamo la atención como otros restaurantes japoneses y bueno..realizamos nuestros pedidos muy emocionados, y mi esposa pidió un Combo Chiken Katsu todo bien hasta que al masticar un tempura sintió algo duro en su boca..era un "PALITO", le hicimos presente al mozo y este a su vez con los encargados que eran nikkei y aparentemente no les importo, así que solicitamos la cuenta, pagamos y pese a qué los encargados estaban en la puerta de salida, solo nos miraron como bichos raros y ninguno de ellos se inmutó en siquiera pedir disculpas!!! Y mucho menos las gracias..Sumimasen o Arigatou..NADA Creo que se está perdiendo el toque de nuestros asentros de Nihon en la cual primero es el cliente, calidad de servicio.
