Kilimanjaro — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

KILIMANJARO RESTAURANT Primavera 464, Lima Phone:(01) 3727985, the cheapest version of Rainforest Café ever. The setting is somehow standard, the menu is Peruvian style, no vegetarian choices at all, waiter are not service oriented, and do not know anything about the menu. We were 3 adults and 2 small children. The waiter forgot to order the kid's meals, they brought only the adults' meals after one hour! After complaining the kids meal was brought after 20 more minutes, now imagine a kids restaurant that takes one hour and twenty minutes to serve the food. They did not even say I am sorry, a total disaster for a place that services kids mainly. If not what for? what adults are going to look for a plastic animal setting? or kids' food? There was no restaurant manager on site, just a more experienced server that was unable to takeover or solve the issue. Nice restaurant in the middle of Surco. Very similar to a Rainforest Cafe franchise. It has animatronic animals, nice decorations and every 30 minutes it turns into a forest with sounds, lights, and the animatronics moving. Great place to take kids. Food is good but a little pricey. I tried the spaghetti with huancaina sauce and lomo saltado. The pasta was dry but the lomo was good. Last time I tried it (over 3 years ago), the food was better. Beer selection is ok. Es un lugar "family friendly" en Lima, para visitar en fin de semana o feriado cuando no tienes otras opciones que hacer. Esta inspirado en la prehistoria con elementos relativos a esa época, por lo que pudiera ser agradable para los chicos que están interesados en esos temas. Solo posee ambientación pero no hay elementos interactivos, cada 15 minutos aproximadamente hacen un espectáculo donde los animales (dinosaurios, tigres, mamut, etc) robotizados realizan movimientos. De noche es mas visible ya que tienen luces. La atención es un poco lenta, al parecer los mozos no están preparados para muchas personas, por lo que en oportunidades puede llegar la comida no tan caliente. No obstante el manejo y el trato es agradable y buscan atendar los requerimientos de los comenzales. Los platos no son tan variados, pero tienen buen sabor y la cantidad es considerable y suficiente para comenzales estándar. Tienen menu infantil, , pero para ser un local enfocado a los niños deberían tener en el menu más opciones (solo 3). El local tienen dos plantas, arriba en verano hace un más calor por estar cerca del techo pero es soportable.
