For context, we just moved to Las Piñas because hubby is from here and he's not in the country at the moment. So, he's been telling me for months to visit the place since it's his favorite Kgrill resto. Today, we finally went here for lunch.
I was with my toddler son, just the two of us. So, supposedly, I'll pay full rate (P499) for myself and half the rate (3ft+)for him. But, since it's a minimum of two diners, I paid him in full. 4ft+ kids pay the full rate.
THE BEEF CUTS & SOUP WERE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 So, this is why hubby kept insisting we go to Sojubang. The quality of the beef was top notch. So, Sojubang just moved to my top 1 place for Kgrill go-tos. Beats Yakikai, Gogii Yolii, Hodai, and Romantic Baboy for me. I mean, some of those Kgrills have shrimp and scallops but Sojubang beats that for me. I can survive with Sojubang alone.
Going back to the beef and soup, hubby told me to put the beef in the soup to cook -- it was the perfect combination. Even 4 hours after coming home, I can't shut up about it. The beef cuts were perfect. The soup was a perfect support to the beef. I seriously loved this part the most. Check my photos for the beef!
Next thing I loved is the side dish: fish cakes! Refer again to the pictures. So, I usually make my own recipe to the same fishcake preparation because most K-restos have it sweet and spicy but bland. Sojubang serves it savory - JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT. Also perfect, a bit dry but still saucy - EXACTLY HOW I LIKE IT. I'm definitely going back!
The only ones I thought were bland was the sweet potatoes in sugary sauce and sesame oil I assume. And the bean sprouts. The bean sprouts were bland and did nothing for my pallet, and the chapjae was also very dry and bland. But, that's just 3/3 cons that shouldn't affect my 5-star rating.
Most of the crew were nice to attend to us, just one who was usually behind the counter who would really take his time when I called him. Everyone else was really fast on their feet and warm. So I usually call them and not that one guy.
Sojubang was worth every penny! ❤️ And I want to go back again soon. At least, now I know what I want on the table.
Thank you for making the trip worth it, Sojubang! I want the beef and soup again...
Read moreMy partner recommended this place to me since she has watched one of Angel Dei's vlogs which featured this Korean Bbq restaurant.
We came here on a weekened. I believe they open at 11:30AM and we arrived earlier than that but the staff were accommodating enough to let us inside before their usual opening hours.
So we got seated, waited for our food, and then the sides came. At first, I was overwhelmed with them being so many but the service staff said that it's okay if we're not able to finish them all so that was a relief. Next came the soup and damn! This was one of the best things that I had here. Now unto the meats - yes, they're tasty and if I am to compare them with the previous Korean bbq places that I've been to, theirs is better. Just by the quality of their meats, you get all of your money's (450 php/head) worth. And they have unlimited iced tea too! (Oh ha! San ka pa?!)
Lastly, I believe they're open until past midnight. So for all y'all night-walkers that are yearning for Korean barbeque, rejoice and go satisfy your...
Read moreAbsolutely satisfying and flavorful from start to finish, this à la carte Korean lunch was a total win. The pan-fried dumplings (mandu) were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired perfectly with a sesame-laced dipping sauce that brought a rich umami kick—an amazing start to the meal. The kimchi fried rice, topped with a sunny-side egg, hit all the right notes with its bold spice, smoky char, and that creamy yolk tying it all together. The kimbap rolls were fresh, colorful, and packed with just the right mix of crunchy, savory, and slightly sweet flavors, with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for that nutty finish. Even the egg roll, simple as it was, held its own. Everything came out beautifully presented, fresh, and portioned just right. Honestly, it wasn’t just lunch—it felt like a little flavor adventure, and I’d recommend it to anyone craving a truly satisfying...
