We went for the first time to see how the place is. We came at 8pm on a Friday night. As a frame of reference, a couple of decades living on the East Coast sets the bar pretty high (very competitive region). There was wait but thankful for a few things: 1- wait area (outdoor) has plenty of seats, 2- the area is pleasant & pretty, 3- got the chance to speak to the lovely Francesca who not only takes your name & guides you to your table but, more importantly, gave me the low down on which dishes I would enjoy based on what I was looking for. My policy is, order a dish I would NOT normally make at home. This meant, we were going for the LAMB. This is can be a very risky choice bec it is often gamey or tough or both. We got the Lamb Scotadino (spelling might be off) and....(drum roll)...it was PRETTY AMAZING. It was flavorful, tender (got it med rare) and NOT gamey at all. The sauce it comes with is the bomb. The potatoes were very good too as were the green beans. We did the mushroom soup before and it was also excellently done. Afterwards we had the Pannacotta. DELISH! The portions for single (non-sharing) were perfect for sharing for us so, yeah, the servings are on point for the price point. The menu, btw, is HUGE. This typically makes me concerned in terms of the quality but, thankfully, it was not an issue.
Now, the only thing I would have preferred but didn't get? A little bit of not-so-bright lights. This combo'd with table quite close each other made me feel like I was in a cafeteria. Part of it is the ceilings are very high too. I do NOT want to take a star away but doesn't provide an ambiance for a bit of intimacy. Not their fault; it is merely my preference.
One of the owners, Mario, is full-fledged Italian (accent and all), has had years in the dining industry and belongs to a family who is well-known for their restaurant. He loves what he does and very passionate about it. He walks around and speaks to the diners to see how their experience is. The staff is warm and helpful.
(PS. We loved the lamb so much we ordered it take out the next day. Unfortunately,.the other lamb dish was given to us and it was already closing time by the time we got home and saw it. Next time I will check the order before leaving.)
I definitely recommend this place and look forward to trying...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Villa Parmigiano in Alabang West, and it was a delightful experience that I would highly recommend to any Italian cuisine enthusiast. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that perfectly set the stage for a memorable meal.
We started with the Insalata di Parmigiano, which was a refreshing beginning to our culinary journey. The salad was a delightful mix of fresh greens and vegetables, perfectly complemented by the rich and nutty flavor of Parmigiano cheese. It was a light yet satisfying starter that awakened our taste buds.
For our main courses, we tried several dishes, each offering a unique taste of Italy. The Spaghetti Alle Vongole was a standout with its perfectly cooked pasta and generous serving of clams. The delicate flavors of garlic and white wine sauce enhanced the natural sweetness of the seafood, making it a dish I would happily order again.
The Lasagna Alla Bolognese was a comforting classic, featuring layers of rich, meaty Bolognese sauce and creamy béchamel, all nestled between perfectly cooked sheets of pasta. It was hearty and flavorful, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to authentic Italian flavors.
The Fettuccine Al Ragu Bolognese was another highlight, with its tender ribbons of pasta coated in a robust and savory ragu. The depth of flavor in the sauce was impressive, and the dish was a perfect example of rustic Italian cooking at its finest.
We also indulged in the Capricciosa Pizze Rosse, a delicious pizza topped with a variety of fresh ingredients, including artichokes, ham, mushrooms, and olives. The thin crust was perfectly crispy, and the combination of toppings provided a satisfying balance of flavors.
The service at Villa Parmigiano was impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who were happy to offer recommendations and ensure our dining experience was enjoyable. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere, combined with its excellent food and service, made for a truly memorable evening.
In conclusion, Villa Parmigiano is a gem in Alabang West that offers an authentic taste of Italy with a menu full of classic and well-executed dishes. Whether you're a fan of pasta, pizza, or just good Italian food, this restaurant is well...
Read moreVery disappointing! We understand that the restaurant is on soft opening but to actually have a 50% off promo on soft opening when your staff are clearly unprepared for the surge of customers is clearly poor decision making on the end of the management. We arrived at 4:30pm and waited an hour to be seated. We then proceeded to give our order to the waiter and was disappointed to find out that several of the food items are not available. We ended up asking what’s available instead of picking and just being told that it’s not available. Also, the waiters were not properly trained to pronounce or to properly say the names of the dishes that they serve. They end up just putting the dishes on the table without telling us what it is or confirming that it’s the correct order. For our table, we ordered 3 pizzas, 3 pastas, and 1 chicken dish. The pizza and drinks arrived within a reasonable amount of time. However, we were already done with our pizza and the rest of our food did not arrive yet. We followed up 3 times with 3 different servers but still our food did not arrive. I then escalated the issue with the manager and he was not very accommodating. Gave me excuses saying that they’re just on soft opening. Turns out, the rest of our order was not placed and the servers we followed up with did not actually check on our order. By the time the rest of our food arrived, we were already very frustrated and have lost our appetites. This was really a disappointing experience and really not the best way to showcase a newly opened restaurant. Hope this will be fixed but for now, I do not recommend that you visit or eat at...
