Beehan is that “homegrown local eatery” that has been recommended for a while. Spent our first night here for dinner — I love Batanes in a sense that everything is actually what the Filipino loves to consider “walking distance”! I love their Paco Salad, it’s very luscious and it has this distinct clammy taste and a perfection when squeezed w/ their calamansi. Good grilled chicken thighs — marinated well and the meat is served well done. Our grilled chicken is served with a side of paco salad already (minus the eggs and calamansi). Beef nilaga which they said is good for 1 person only but it’s enough for the 2 of us especially we only want the soup. Beef meat is okay and they only have cabbage as the vegetable for beef nilaga — maybe if they could add a notch for spiciness, it would appeal better. The beef broth is quiet different from the “beef nilaga” they usually have; this one is beef broth. Reasonable pricing and the receptionist is accommodating especially to tourists like us who struggles with communicating. Clean area, kinda humid (but they have wall fans & we visited May 18, 2025) at around 7PM but they have free WiFi access code which is...
Read moreI stayed in Basco for 7 days. During my stay, I ate at Beehan's 6 times. For my first meal (snack), I tasted their Special Pancit Beehan. It's delicious because of ingredients and vegetables, and there are really fresh Baguio beans. For my second meal (dinner), I ordered Octopus sisig (₱250) and Beehan platter meal with Lunis (pork), rice and paco salad (green leafy vegetable with tomato) for ₱250. The third time, I ordered Lunis Si-Log ₱130, and a separate Paco Salad ₱100 for a total of ₱230 and it was cheaper than the Beehan Platter, and I even had an extra egg!
I also tasted their spaghetti and hamburger, and it was good (not sure if I was really hungry, hehe). But when I ordered again Pancit Beehan, the cooking seemed changed. It's not consistent. And Chicksilog was also tried, but as you can see in the picture, not good and it's sad, I hope it's not unavailable, it's so small. The lomi is ok but it doesn't seem to be special. I just hope they are consistent, and I hope everything in the menu is available. Lunis is like bagnet pork, but I prefer adobo pork as their lunis is dry.
Beehan is good...
Read more23 Sep (late lunch), 24 Sep (dinner), 29 Sep 2024 (lunch). In all of my visits here, only one other table was occupied when I arrived. Ordering is right at the cashier's booth and the system is "pay as you order" so if there are other guests waiting in line, I recommend writing down your order first instead of blocking the way--after all, this is a highly recommended place. For lunch, I had the humba and the paco (fern) salad and I really enjoyed the meal. Along with the soda can this cost me 315 PHP. For dinner, I had the Beehan Platter which had some of Batanes' delicacies (uved and lunis), fern salad and turmeric rice. Along with the soda can, I paid 350 PHP. In both instances, the food was served in about 10 minutes. On my third visit, I had the fern salad once more, along with bopis, rice and a soda. The prices may seem a bit high, but the servings make the meals a good value. I paid in cash and I did not notice if they accept card or e-wallet payments. Anyway, I put this in my top 3 Basco...
