Dining at the Loboc River Floating Restaurant was an absolute highlight of my trip to Bohol – truly a perfect dining experience that goes far beyond just the food! (Full disclosure: I wanted to get a ittle help from Gemini, my AI writing assistant, to capture just how wonderful it was and to do it justice!)
From the moment you step aboard, you're embarking on a journey that combines delicious buffet-sytle cuisine with incredible cultural immersion and breathtaking natural beauty. The experience of gently cruising down the Loboc River while enjoying a sumptuous buffet of local Filipino dishes is simply magical. The scenery is stunning, with lush, verdant banks, towering coconut trees, and glimpses of local life along the river. It's incredibly serene and picturesque.
What truly elevates this experience is the rich cultural component. As you glide along, you're treated to live traditional music and captivating cultural performances by local artists. It adds such a vibrant and authentic layer to the meal, making it not just about eating, but about celebrating Bohol's heritage.
It's a fantastic way to enjoy a meal, witness beautiful landscapes, and immerse yourself in Filipino culture all at once. I highly recommend the Loboc River Floating Restaurant for an unforgettable and uniquely beautiful...
Read moreIt's okay, and it will be good for foreign people, for them to have a glimpse of both the Filipino culture and nature. It's an amazing experience because of the tantalizing beauty of the river so I gave a foud because of that. The food is okay, not so impressive. I just think that the rate is not only for food but for the boat to see the beauty of the river. As for the customer service, it was fantastic at first, but because of one employee of Boat # 17, a woman who said that there will be no available drinks for us unless we buy it from the boat, but in fact, there is free lemonade juice, so there is no need to order drinks inside the boat. Because of that woman, we ordered coconut drinks, and it is not desirable, so do not order it. It's not fresh, and it tastes like it is heated under the sun. Instead of feeling fresh, you might feel irritated. If you want to buy a coconut drink, you must buy it from the guy in front of Sevilla Hanging Bridge. His coconut drink is sweet and fresh. To clarify, the staff are nice, very hospitable and kind, except one. The comfort room of the place is clean and does not smell bad and properly...
Read moreThe food is delicious with a wide variety of options, and the cultural presentation is well-curated—perfect for tourists wanting an authentic local experience. The live music adds to the fun, all while enjoying a peaceful and beautiful view from the floating restaurant.
According to our tour guide, the river is the cleanest in the Philippines, which makes the experience even more special. Since this is a very popular (and touristy) destination, I highly recommend booking with a tour guide to skip the long lines at the tourism office for tickets.
It’s places like this that truly make you proud to be Filipino, something worth sharing with both locals and international...
