Recommend! I’ve read so many unreasonable reviews complaining. ‘Tourist trap, drinks not included, ‘cramped table composition’, food quality is sub-par’, ‘ band too loud you can’t talk’, pushing for tips for the band’. Bottom line you pay 850 Pesos; 15$. Let that sink in.. 15$ for that you get a buffet where you can eat as much as you want. Food is FINE, it’s not Michelin star obviously, but I’ve seen everyone finishing their plates and go for a second round and the food was good, warm and tasty. The tables very spaced just fine, not cramped at all. I do suggest to fill up your plate as soon as you sit down. I missed out on the watermelon-.- I think most people on my boat didn’t eat for a few days, or maybe food in general is too expensive, because I’ve never seen such a hungry, greedy bunch of people. The band was fun. Singing some classics and some local songs, at no point anyone asked me for a tip, don’t be a cheap Charly, just drop a 100 in their tip box, they sang a happy birthday for someone, spread a happy vibe, and are thankful for any tip. Not too loud, great addition to the buffet and views. Drinks are NOT included, but if you open your eyes in the terminal it’s clearly mentioned on billboards before you pay. Lettering size is about 3 inches, so you should be able to easily read it, so you won’t complain after. Or just eat soup, that’s included, if you find 80 pesos expensive for a beer, 1,5 buck. Can you buy for less in Bohol? SURE! But then stay away from this ‘tourist trap’ and YouTube logic river, or just don’t go on holiday, it’ll save you a bunch of money. Halfway the ride you stop for traditional dance and music. They invite you to try their traditional dance. I highly recommend getting off the boat immediately and join in the fun. The ride lasts around an hour. Too short? What do you want a 6 hour tour? Come on! Great experience, friendly and accommodating staff, and serious can you complain about a 15$ boat ride with music, friendly staff, cheap drinks and eat all you can? 100% worth it. Parking...
Read moreUnique experience! We arrived by scooter and parked it on the road by the entrance (not sure if this is the right way, but it worked out fine for us). You have to go inside the big building first to buy your ticket and be assigned a boat & seat, then go to your boat on the dock (there are at least 4 boats departing at 15 or so minute intervals. Wearing a mask is required inside the building and when you go up to the buffet table on the boat. We were one of the first tables to be seated and the buffet table was already ready. By the time the rest of the tables were filled and the boat left the dock, we had already finished eating, which was actually great because we were able to spend the whole cruise on the front deck enjoying the scenery. There is a bathroom on board and smoking/vaping is not allowed anywhere. At the turnaround point, there is a floating raft where a group of locals performs a nice traditional song/dance. The cruise itself is about an hour, but since we boarded early we spent about 1.5 hours total onboard. My main takeaway is - you're not here for the food, but for the experience. The food is good (various Filipino dishes) but not 850 pesos good. When you factor in the scenery you will see, the unique aspect of dining on a boat, and the cultural experience, it is very much worth 850 pesos....
Read moreIt's a unique experience. If you're going to Bohol, I highly recommend this for the experience.
However, the reason why I'm giving this a 3 star is because of two things:
First, my wife already inquired a day prior for the schedule. The lady who talked to her said there were only two schedules, 11:30 and 12. We also called again on the day, around 9 am and they said it's the only schedule. Our first stop was Chocolate hills, since it's the farthest. I drove the motorbike like a madman just to make it on time. We even skipped the Tarsiers because my wife really wanted to try this one. And when we got there, the schedule was a lie!
Second, the food is not great. It's your typical food you'll find everywhere. If you're coming for the food, you'll be disappointed.
Again, you're coming here for the experience. There's a band singing old songs, my wife had to stop me because my singing was getting louder and I'm bad at it. There was also a local riding his motorbike along the river like Indiana Jones. It's not part of the attraction but it was fun either way. The experience of cruising along the river gave me Huckleberry Finn nostalgia, watching the cartoon when I was a kid and...
