I was just planning to give this place a 3 stars, but thanks to the beautiful color of the water on the river, thanks to the greens that I saw from left and right while the boat is running.
The food is not good. I mean, OK, it does not taste bad, they are good, but nothing really special. Some foods were already cold, I think they cooked it at a very early time. They should have this technique of serving food while it is still hot. I only liked this sweet and spicy anchovies, and their pickled sea-grass, with chopped carrots and onions. I would really say, you will not enjoy the food.
But, again, thanks to view. The view is very nice and gives you this feeling that you really want to take care of the environment and wishing that every river in the country is the same as Loboc River. You will see children playing in the water, the locals, climbing up the hanging tree on the ledge of the river and jumping on it, they look very happy and smiling at us, to tourists, and does not ask for money or anything. They just enjoy life.
During the near-end of the course, there was a stop-over, the boat will dock on another floating surface (a floating stage). And there was these woman, mothers, grandmothers, children, in a colorful clothes, dancing and singing local songs. They invite some tourists to join with them and we were just smiling and clapping our hands. They will ask for small donations but it was not...
Read moreGreat cruise and dine along thr Loboc River. While the water is murky and green, the ambiance of the place, the dining experience of service and entertainment was sumptuous and fair for the price.
Con was the long queue even on a weekday, which is understandable because of high heat of the summer, limited boats and a large crowding surge of customers. Also, food was probably palatable on some meals and somewhat lacking, but other meals in the buffet were good.
Pros were the good music by the folk group and the in-boat band, as well as the setting with a nature vibe of being close to the river (while murkiness was evident, the waters were probably clean as vibrant fishes and wildlife breach the waters). The breezy feel and the cool cloudy...
Read moreWorst tourist trap ever. Truly a waste of our time. Avoid! It’s crowded and all you get out of the overpriced ticket is bad food and a noisy environment. On the boat the tables are packed and you have to sit still and listen to horrible sing-along music while the boat sails along the river. All the beautiful jungle noises are covered by the music and the motor. The boat stops at one pier where Philippino ladies sing a welcome song in English which has nothing to do with the Loboc culture. RIP off, wish we had...
